ROYERSFORD, PENNSYLVANIA: A Pennsylvania Chick-fil-A has announced a ban on children under 16 from dining in its location without adult supervision after experiencing constant bad behavior from "rowdy" teens. The edict was issued by the Royersford eatery as they were left with no choice following a string of relentless "unacceptable behavior" by minors who were not worth welcoming without an adult.

While the branch of the chain loves “being a community restaurant and serving guests of all ages,” they were certain about their decision to only allow a customer under 16 if the children were accompanied by a mother, father, or adult chaperone. The misbehavior by groups of children included trashing the restaurant, often cursing and being loud toward employees as well as unsafe activities like walking through the Drive Thru. It is alleged that parents would often leave their children at the Urban Air activity center, where the fast food restaurant is based, using it as a "daycare."

'We contemplated long and hard'

"If not accompanied by an adult, they may come in to purchase food, but must take it to go," the Royersford Chick-fil-A wrote in a Facebook post last Wednesday, February 22. "To those unaccompanied children and teens that have visited us and acted appropriately, we thank you. But we also apologize. Due to the numerous extreme behaviors of many of your peers, we must make a blanket rule covering anyone under the age of 16. We contemplated long and hard before posting this, but decided it was time." The statement added that the restaurant was the most populated with juveniles on Saturdays as the children did not have school on that day. It also listed a series of activities performed by the minors, mistreating the employees and the restaurant, reported NY Post

'Kudos to you for taking a stance'

The restaurant was praised for speaking out on the issue by customers who also shared their own experiences of young people displaying poor behavior at the chain, as reported by the Daily Mail. "I was there on Monday and what a disaster! I felt bad for the staff. Kudos to you for taking a stance. Parents (I am one myself) need to be made aware of what's going on when they drop kids off at Urban Air! Minors need to be accompanied by a parent - no drop and go! Urban air is a drop off point and then they run around the entire shopping center going in and out of stores and running through parking lots," Joe Tuturice shared.

"This is sad for those teens who are polite, but I agree you have to do this. My family and I were having dinner there a few weeks ago, and a group of teens did exactly what you described. Thank you for creating a safe, family-friendly atmosphere," a social media user wrote.
