In this week's two-way crossover between 'Chicago Fire' and 'Chicago PD', former Chicago police officer Sean Roman (Brian Geraghty) shows up to look for his missing sister. We last saw Roman in Season 3, after which the character left for San Diego.

Roman initially does not tell the Intelligence Unit about his missing sister as he is worried that she may be dealing drugs out. However, Hank Voight — head of the Intelligence Unit — assures him that they will look out for her.

Unfortunately, Roman's sister dies after being attacked by her older boyfriend and is left in the cold. Later, this boyfriend turns up dead and though everyone suspects that it may be his supplier who killed him, Roman's former partner Kim Burgess deduces that it was Roman who did the deed.

She tells Voight of what she learned after grappling whether to tell him or not and Voight shows up during the funeral for Roman's sister. Roman is ready to be arrested, but Voight lets him go, telling him that the murder investigation will be of low priority.

Fans of 'Chicago PD' were excited to see Sean Roman return despite the circumstances. One viewer wrote, "Hope we get to see Roman again soon. It was nice to see him and Burgess together again. #ChicagoPD." Another shared, "Bringing back Roman now was the perfect time considering what Burgess is going through. That eulogy was for her."

Some fans lauded Voight's move to let Roman go. One fan tweeted, "I knew Voight wouldn't arrest Roman, he's not heartless and Logan got what he deserved," while another said, "Voight and Kim protecting Roman because once you're in the family, you’ll always be in the family."

However, there were fans who were disappointed with the turn of events. One viewer asked, "This is wrong... how they let Roman get away with murder?" Another viewer tweeted, "So they let Roman, the white guy, off the hook, but harrassed black folks and POC throughout the whole episode?"

'Chicago PD' airs on NBC on Wednesday nights at 10/9c.
