Cher has launched another tirade at US President Donald Trump, this time seemingly accusing the president of making things up because he could not bear not being the center of attention. The singer, 73, one of the most vocal celeb critics of Trump, took to Twitter to attack him over his response to the novel coronavirus pandemic that has seen more than 160,000 people across the country infected.

"Trump knows no one is stealing medical supplies," she wrote. "He’s so addicted to being in front of the cameras, he can’t bear “not being” the center of attention, with no adulation. He’s a sick man, who doesn’t care if he lies or tells the truth. He needs to feed the orange beast. If he can’t spew venom at his rallies, crime and poison will do [sic]."

The tweet was seemingly made in response to Trump's Sunday night press briefing where he brought up reports of how demand for masks had some hospitals had spiked from 10,000-20,000 to over 300,000 over the past week.

"How do you go from 10 to 20 to 300,000?" he had said. "10 to 20,000 masks to 300,000 — even though this is different. Something’s going on. And you ought to look into it as reporters. Where are the masks going? So somebody should probably look into that."

"I think people should check that because there’s something going on. I don’t think it’s hoarding. I think it’s maybe worse than hoarding,” he continued. “Check it out. I don’t know. I think that’s for other people to figure out."

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo had brought up a similar problem earlier this month when he said that people were taking to stealing precious medical equipment as the crisis worsened.

"As fear over the new coronavirus in New York spreads faster than the outbreak, people have started to steal masks and other medical equipment from local hospitals," he had said. "Not just people taking a couple or three, I mean just actual thefts of those products."

"I’ve asked the state police to do an investigation, look at places that are selling masks, medical equipment, protective wear, feeding the anxiety."

Cher's recent tweet came just a few days after she had expressed her displeasure over Trump calling for Americans to return to work as soon as possible. The 73-year-old singer-actress said she and her mother, Georgia Holt, 93, are "fodder" for the president's "inhumane grist mill."

"For Trump, my mom & I are dispensable, fodder for his inhumane grist mill," she wrote. 'Well, I HAVE worked from 1965 To 2020 & perhaps I’m beyond HIS sell-by date. As for mom..all she does is make everybody laugh..yes we’re obviously the ones who should be sacrificed dor Donald Trump's economy [sic]."

She had also previously claimed that Trump would end up killing thousands of Americans due to his lackadaisical response to the pandemic.

"Believe for good of the country, Trump, Pence & administration must be forced to step down because he will end up killing thousands of Americans," she wrote. "He's lied and we are not prepared/protected. We are on the same trajectory as Italy!!! He put no one in charge till it was too late. He'll suck his thumb [sic]."
