Who are Chandler Carrera and Eduardo Pineda? 'Hot' Texas cops save unconscious man from burning truck
AUSTIN, TEXAS: A pair of police officers from Austin have taken the internet by storm after they saved a man from a burning truck, moments before the vehicle exploded. However, more than the heroics displayed by the brave cops, people started thirsting over the 'hot' officers.
The cops from Austin Police Department were identified as Chandler Carrera and Eddie Pineda, who received high praise for their brave act of dragging an unconscious man from his Dodge Ram in south Austin on Monday, last week. The emergency arose when the driver suffered a medical emergency while backing into a parking spot - his foot became stuck to the accelerator, causing the tires to continuously spin and set off the blaze, the Austin Fire Department said.

According to police bodycam footage, Pineda, who has been dubbed a hero, was first on the scene as he broke the front window of the Dodge just as flames tore through the engine and the vehicle started getting filled with smoke. He then called Carrera for help and they both put all their strength into getting the man free and then dragging him away from the truck just before it exploded. The man was rushed to Dell Seton Medical Center with life-threatening injuries following the incident.
According to the Patch, Police Chief Joseph Chacon commended the officers for their bravery. "Despite the danger, they rushed in and saved a man's life," Chacon said. "These are the guardians of our community. Thank you, officers Pineda and Carrera!" He also tweeted, "I’d also like to recognize Officers Eduardo Pineda and Chandler Carrera, for rescuing a man from a burning vehicle! Great work, everyone. #OneAustinSaferTogether"

Both Carrera and Pineda tried to play down the fact that they were heroes after appearing on a CNN segment. "It feels good, but we don't consider ourselves heroes," Pineda said. "We're police officers. That's the job. We're here to help people." Pineda added that the rescue was made possible due to "pure training" that had kicked in to help him save the man. "I felt the adrenaline after everything was done," he said.
'Which was hotter, these cops or the fire?'
