Ever since a photo of Frey and his alleged beau went viral, Twitter has been divided. While many welcomed the dancer and comedian into the LGBTQ++ community, dubbing it the ultimate Pride Month announcement, others are left sobbing that Frey has a boyfriend but it's not them. With equal dollops of warmth and celebration, Frey's fans seem to have welcomed his beau into their loving acceptance, but who is this mystery man you ask? Who is Casey Frey's boyfriend?

According to the Instagram profile's bio, Frey's boyfriend's name is Joshua Elias Haynesworth-Polen. He's a 30-year-old queer barber who expresses solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement and the police condemning hashtag ACAB. Haynesworth-Polen reveals that he is an Aries in his Instagram bio, where he also warns people: "IF I DONT KNOW YOU I AM NOT ACCEPTING YOUR REQUEST." Haynesworth-Polen's biggest reveal was perhaps a string of multiple photo posts on Instagram with Frey. 

Haynesworth-Polen has 2,190 followers on Instagram and his account is private. However, alleged screenshots circulating on Twitter reveal that he captioned the post with Frey: "I'm so ready for this year to be over, excited to see what next year brings." Geotagged Los Angeles, California, the post is from January 1, according to the screenshot. The picture is that of Frey, with his arms wrapped tightly around Haynesworth-Polen, both of them beaming at the camera with huge smiles. As soon as the photo went viral, one user recognized Frey's boyfriend from the selfie, noting: "This is so funny bc idk who casey frey is but his bf dyed my hair in my dorm when i was in college."

'Wish it were me'

Some fans were quick to notice how happy the two look together. "CASEY FREY HAS A BOYFRIEND!! BOY!!!FRIEND!!!nature is healing," announced one Twitter user. Another celebrated: "Casey frey having a bf is the best thing to happen all week happy pride month everyone." Other fans of the comedian known for his unique dance skills were torn. Sobbing via tweet, and with a photo of a bummed-out Logan Lerman from that "Baked as a cake" scene in 'Perks of Being a Wallflower', one fan tweeted: "I’m so happy for Casey Frey and his b-boyfriend… I wish them all the luck and happiness truly."

Other fans did not hide their heartbreak over not being Frey's beloved. "So Casey Frey has a boyfriend and it’s NOT me?" asked one, along with a gif of Whoopi Goldberg saying "okay". Another tweeted: "Casey Frey has a boyfriend and it ain’t me I hate this life they’re so cute tho I adore them." A third fan also said, "So annoyed just found out casey frey has a bf i mean good for him but i wish it were me."

And there was also a section of Twitter that were shocked, but not surprised by the revelation that Frey is gay or bi, as some claimed. "yall didn't know casey frey was gay? yall never saw this vine?" asked one user. Another posted screenshots of Haynesworth-Polen's Instagram account and questioned their fellow Frey fans: "Y’all just now finding out Casey Frey has a boyfriend?? They’ve been posting each other for months now...."

Others were surprised by something totally else altogether. "Never have been as shocked at gay news than Casey frey being bisexual. But I remember those tweets when he said he might be kinda gay and then he quickly deleted them," noted a fan. Another explained: "Casey Frey having a boyfriend surprises me, not because I thought he was straight, but because in my head he was a possibly cryptid deity who wouldn’t date a mortal."
