Does Cardi B own Fashion Nova?
Cardi B does not own Fashion Nova. She has released two clothing lines with the brand but does not own the entire company. The brand was founded by Richard Saghian in 2006. He is currently working as the CEO of the company. Unlike most clothing retailers, Fashion Nova does almost all of its business online.
The clothing company owns five stores in California but manages to sell and ship clothing to thousands of people around the world. Fashion Nova’s online success is because of its partnerships with influencers. Fashion Nova pays celebrities and Instagram stars to wear their clothing and encourage fans to buy from the brand.
Before launching her own clothing brand, Cardi B worked with Fashion Nova as an influencer promoting their brand. Reports suggest that she was paid $20,000 a month to wear Fashion Nova clothing and post pictures in their outfits.
The company's CEO Richard Saghian stated that his partnership with Cardi B has been incredibly mutually beneficial. He was the first to lend her samples when other fashion designers did not believe in her. When Cardi B rose to superstardom she took Fashion Nova with her. She posts several photos of the outfits she gets from Fashion Nova and her fans are quick to buy the products and steal her style.
This year, the brand also made headlines after it teamed up with Megan Thee Stallion on the first anniversary of Breonna Taylor's death. The brand partnered with Stallion to donate $100,000 to the Breonna Taylor Foundation.
Stallion posted: "A year ago today Breonna Taylor was tragically taken from her family and friends. Breonna’s name continues to be a catalyst for change and a powerful reminder that justice has still not been served. Fashion Nova and I are proud to give $100,000 to the @breonnataylorfoundation created by @tamikalpalmer to honor the memory of her daughter."
"The core mission of the foundation is to support economic, social, and racial justice through police reform and government accountability. The foundation also seeks to help young people to realize their full potential, empowering them to participate in political processes and achieve better health, with mentorship programs for high-school girls, after-school initiatives, and educational support. #BreonnaTaylorFoundation #JusticeForBre #SayHerName #BlackLivesMatter #BlackWomenMatter."
