Capitol rioter Jenna Ryan was sentenced to a federal prison earlier this month. The real estate broker from Texas had come down to Washington on a private plane to participate in the Insurrection. She expressed remorse after the sentencing saying, "I just want to say that I am very sorry. There's really not words to describe. I was foolish, and I made a mistake, and I learned from that mistake, like a thousand lessons." District Judge Christopher R. Cooper ordered her to pay a $1,000 fine and $500 in restitution to the architect of the Capitol during the sentencing. She posted a TikTok video telling her followers she will be using her jail time which begins in January, to lose weight and detox.

On January 6, the day of the Insurrection, Jenna had posted a bathroom selfie saying, "We're gonna go down and storm the Capitol. They're down there right now and that's why we came and so that's what we are going to do. So wish me luck." She posted a number of photos from the Capitol, including a selfie outside a broken window inside the building, and said, "it was one of the best days of my life," in a tweet that has since been deleted. Three days later she issued a statement saying "what I believed to be a peaceful political march turned into a violent protest" and that she was heartbroken for people who died that day. In March, she tweeted, "Definitely not going to jail. Sorry, I have blonde hair white skin a great job a great future and I'm not going to jail. Sorry to rain on your hater parade. I did nothing wrong."

Hoping for 'protein shakes and protein bars' in jail

In a recent video posted to her TikTok page Jenna Ryan talked about going to jail like someone going to a wellness retreat. Clad in workout gear, Jenna said, "The only thing I can see that’s good about having to go to jail is that I’m going to be able to work out a lot, and do a lot of yoga and detox.” At one point in the video she described jail food as "awful" before adding that she's hoping there are "protein shakes and protein bars". She stepped on a weighing scale that read 170 pounds and said, "I'm thinking that I can get down to you know, 140, or 30 pounds in two months."

Earlier in the video, she said, "So hopefully I’ll finally get down to my ideal weight. Because I won’t be able to drink. I won’t be able to eat … like stupid stuff like chips and all the stuff I eat sometimes." Jenna added, "it will be worth going to prison for 60 days" if she managed to drop those pounds she was aiming to lose. She was brutally trolled for posting the video and meant noted that she hadn't learned from her mistakes, contrary to the statement she made following her sentencing.

"Go fucking viral and spread this video far and f**king wide. Jenna Ryan thinks prison is a place to go on diet! It’s a place you f**king regret what you did and pay for it STUPID! I hope this video reaches the court so they can give her EXTRA!!!!" a user tweeted, posting Jenna's video to Twitter. "How is this TikTok from Capitol rioter Jenna Ryan real how," wondered another. "Remember Jenna Ryan - the woman who flew a private jet to DC for the riot who pled to a misdemeanor and was sentenced to 60 days? She hopes to use her prison time to practice yoga, detox from alcohol, and lose weight. Imagine what she could accomplish with a much longer sentence," remarked a third. "I love how you've learned nothing from all of this. It's just stunning," a fourth tweeted. Jenna continues to call herself an American Patriot and her Twitter bio reads, "#AmericanPatriot Charged with Parading, Picketing & Protesting in DC on January 6th. Sentenced to 60 days prison for 2 mins 8 sec in doorway."
