Candace Owens, who has taken a pro-Donald Trump stance in the wake of the November 3 presidential election, lashed out at former president Barack Obama on Thursday, November 12, alleging that he turned his back on the US and was the only commander-in-chief who came out of the White House ‘hating America’.

The conservative commentator and political activist of color told Fox News’ Sean Hannity that the former president’s recent remarks on the Republicans and racism in the US were “absolutely despicable” as White Americans had voted him into office. She accused Obama, who became the first American president of color in 2009, of showing little respect to those who supported him in the ballot box and “gave him literally everything he has”.

Owens also attacked the Democratic Party accusing it of seeing Black voters as “means to an end” and said the Obama administration did nothing in reality to help the Black because the blue party wanted them to remain a “permanent voting block”.

The woman, who recently said that Biden doesn’t have the “it factor”, targeted Obama while replying to a question about the former president claiming in his upcoming memoir ‘A Promised Land’ that the GOP is xenophobic and paranoid. In his book which was obtained by CNN, Obama said that it was his presence in the White House that generated a “deep-seated panic, a sense that the natural order had been disrupted.” According to him, Trump sensed the mood and took advantage of it to capture the White House in 2016. He said Trump got the boost to win the presidency, thanks to the increased racial tensions that happened because of the presence of a Black man in the corridors of power.

Trump delegitimizing democracy, says Obama

Also in a clip of an interview with ‘60 Minutes’ released on Thursday, November 12, Obama claimed Trump was “delegitimizing democracy” and putting America on a “dangerous path”.
Owens was quick to launch the counter-attack. She told Hannity that the rhetoric that came out of Obama’s mouth was despicable.

“This is a man who ran on the American dream. Everyone remembers where they were the night Barack Obama won. There was a kinetic energy on the ground it felt like we finally had arrived at a place in this country where we could put the past on the past. He ran on that image. He didn't run on race, he didn't run on denigrating half of Americans,” Owens added.

She said that the US is a country with the Whites in the majority and Obama became the president because they voted for him. She said instead of unifying the nation and respecting it for giving him what he has, Obama turned back and called that very country a “broken” one.

“He is the first president to have ever sat in the White House and come out of the White House hating America and that is what I believe about Barack Obama today,” she added.
She also claimed that Trump has been dubbed racist more than “anyone else who ever walked the face of the planet” but that he still managed to increase his Black votes this year, thanks to the Dems who also looked down upon them as a permanent vote bank. She also recently lashed out at those who called Trump's supporters 'racist bigots and xenophobes' in a piece.
