Candace Owens furious Trump fans branded as 'racist bigots and xenophobes', Internet says 'he gave us hope'

Most Trump supporters sided with Owens and many on social media were seen commenting how 'Donald Trump is the only president who cares about the working class people'

Candace Owens, conservative author, commentator and political activist, is not having any of the jabs and ridicule directed at Donald Trump or his supporters. In fact, she lashed out at president elect Joe Biden's supporters and other liberals who she claims have branded Trump fans as "racist bigots and xenophobes." Even after Trump lost his reelection bid this year, she insisted that he gave a "voice to the voiceless" and 'hope for the American dream' and blamed the media for painting a derogatory picture of the outgoing president. 

In an op-ed titled 'Why does a young black woman like me back The Donald? He gives a voice to the voiceless' in the Daily Mail, the 31-year-old wrote: "Those who privately supported him were reduced to uneducated, red-neck hicks – the toothless type who drink beer on their porch and marry their first cousins. For those who dared to venture their support for Trump in public, far worse characterizations were reserved. They were racist bigots, xenophobes unfit to see the light of day in a civilized society. So where do such insulting illustrations leave Americans like me?"

Owens, who is the founder of Blexit, a campaign to persuade African-Americans and other minorities to switch their political party from Democratic to registered Republicans is one of Trump's "most prominent cheerleaders and pals of the first family." In the op-ed, she refered to her childhood and called it bereft of privilege, recalling how she lived in a "roach-infested, low-income housing unit." "If you buy into media stereotypes, that makes Donald Trump my enemy, because there is no place in 'Trump's America' for minorities and the impoverished. But such a view could hardly be more wrong," she said. "There is no President (and I dare say no leader in the history of the world) who has faced more accusations of inherent hatred and racism than Donald J Trump."

She attacked the media for explaining away Trump supporters like herself "with petty name-calling." "Minorities who support the President are traitors, minstrels and fools," she continued. "The comfortable elites who control the national media would much rather believe in unicorns than risk stumbling upon the reality of Trump and the millions of forgotten people who voted for him."

Her comments were met with a number of responses on social media, most of which came from Trump supporters who agreed with Owens. "Donald Trump is the only president who cares about the working class people! Bring to bring the jobs back the America! So many workers could earn a living! This seems easy to do but the previous government failed us! He gave us hope! He will be my president forever!" one said, while another noted, "Unfortunately we all knew this was going to happen. The MSM told us they where going to do this. My question is. Why is the crowd going crazy over all this. Let the court take care of it. Unfortunately, it is very unfair to all that want the best for our nation"

A third commented, "Black Lives Matter unless it's not a leftist." Someone else said, "First rule in Logic 101. Don’t ever try to debate economics with a liberal. It’s like convincing a 5 year old who wants another sucker that too much sugar is bad for them. Be the adult in the room." The next wrote, "He's empowerment. He makes you believe in yourself. He gives us hope not fear. He makes us see beyond limitations."
