LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: There are only a handful of shows where an actor tells his life story in a “fictionalized” manner and tell the world about the journey he went through to achieve what he or she has achieved in their life. Peacock’s new series ‘Bupkis’ is one example that sees Pete Davidson starring as a fictionalized version of himself and telling his own story in a quirky manner. The premiere saw Pete having a great with his grandfather and they were having a boys’ night out. However, the second episode takes us back to a time when Davidson lost his father in the 9/11 attacks.

The second episode opens with a shot of Pete’s mother (Edie Falco) getting ready to attend a marriage. Her sister is getting married and despite being so sad after losing her husband, she attends the function with Pete and her sister. As soon as they enter the church, we realize that Pete has been making bad jokes at bad times from the beginning. While taking a family picture, the cameraman tells Pete to smile because the picture is getting ruined. His new uncle, Uncle Tommy (Bobby Cannavale), supported him and told the cameraman to take the picture without saying anything.

Davidson felt lonely after his father's death

During the episode, we also saw how lonely he felt after his father’s death, but wasn’t able to convey his feelings. He was making jokes at inappropriate times and trying to be a clown. But Uncle Tommy always liked him and even took him for a ride while sneaking out for a bit from his own marriage. He had a lot of fun with Uncle Tommy and shared a special relationship with him. He felt that someone was there who was doing things like his father used to.

Pete’s mother was struggling a bit to take care of the children, but she never gave up and continued to put a smile on her face even when the times were hard. In the ending moments of the episode, we see the younger version of Pete dancing his heart out at the wedding and everyone was cheering for him. His mother was so happy that Pete was enjoying it so much because she knew how much he missed his father.

Davidson's life hasn't been a cakewalk, it's been a struggle

After seeing the episode, we believed how hard it would have been for her mother to take care of these kids. If a kid needs his or her mother, they need their father as well. The second episode gave a good glimpse of one of the moments in Pete’s life that was really integral and joyous.

The episode ends with real-life photos of that particular ceremony where he can be seen enjoying the wedding with his loved ones.
