'Bull' Season 4 Episode 2 preview: Bull and Benny's relationship is set to play an integral role in 'Fantastica Voyage'
'Bull' season four had an eventful first episode. The ending was termed '"futuristic" by fans, and while some nodded their approval, others felt it was too far-fetched. 'Bull', however, boasted of gripping and intriguing endings.
It was fascinating to see the way TAC went about their business of understanding jurors, lawyers, witnesses, and defendants, using psychology, human intuition, and high-tech data. While each episode is a new case, one constant factor throughout the series is the relationships.
Speaking of relationships, it was heartening to see Jason Bull (Michael Weatherly) and Benny Colon (Freddy Rodriguez) mend their fractured ties. Bull meets Benny and pleads to put aside their past differences.
Benny, however, is firm on his stand that until Bull recognizes him as an attorney and shows him the respect he deserves, there's no teaming up. Eventually, Bull's attempts to make the trial go away fails and Benny is his last hope.
Any viewer at this stage who's followed 'Bull' religiously can connect to the apology that's offered to Benny. It's got enough to show that Bull is genuinely sorry and Benny comes back.
While each episode presents a new case, 'Labor Days' establishes that the Bull-Benny relationship plays an integral part in almost every episode.
Of course, the two may have their fair share of arguments for a case, however, Benny was shown to be an indispensable member of TAC and that means Bull will be more than pleased to have a rockstar like Benny on his team.
He is smart, accurate with his theory and his presence on screen is an absolute refresher. His chemistry with Weatherly is also a treat to watch.
The ending of episode one also establishes that Benny will be around for a long time. This is evident when the episode flashes forward by 27 years. Bull and Izzy's (Yara Martinez) daughter calls Bull 'dad' and Benny as 'Uncle Benny' referring that the duo will remain together. Retired by then, maybe?
The official synopsis for the second episode 'Fantastica Voyage' reads: "A charismatic entrepreneur is accused of defrauding investors in her seemingly groundbreaking water filtration company. Bull focuses on selecting jurors whose belief systems allow them to see his client as a dreamer who never meant criminal intent".
'Bull' airs Mondays at 10 pm ET on CBS.
