Buffalo Blizzard: Horrifying pics show devastation caused by bomb cyclone
BUFFALO, NEW YORK: The conditions are turning deadly as the city of Buffalo is taking a hit by the bomb cyclone. A total of three weather-related fatalities have been reported in Buffalo and 19 around the nation on Saturday, December 24. The deaths occurred in Oklahoma, Kentucky, Missouri, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Kansas, Nebraska, and Ohio, as previously reported. Many families spent a night without power and the members of the National Guard worked to get people out of stranded cars. Sharing a glimpse of the absolute mayhem, people took to Twitter to give a peek at the worst storm in the city's history.
One wrote, "Snowed in for Christmas. The Buffalo Blizzard of ‘22 has been a wild ride. Wind chills well below zero, heavy lake effect snow, & gusts over 70 mph. I’ve never seen anything like this. Officials say it’s likely the worst storm in the city’s history. Lucky to still have power." Another commented, "No power for 14 hours now. House is a crisp 55°. Alone here with just the sounds of wind, my dog snoring, and trickling faucets. And let me just say, man we take so many things for granted."

What is bomb cyclone?
It is a storm that intensifies very rapidly. However, “All bomb cyclones are not hurricanes. But sometimes, they can take on characteristics that make them look an awful lot like hurricanes, with very strong winds, heavy precipitation and well-defined eye-like features in the middle," tells University of California, Los Angeles, climate scientist Daniel Swain, as quoted by NBC.
