Bud Light Super Bowl LV ad starring Post Malone dubbed 'the best' but Internet says drink tastes like 'cat piss'

A user tweeted, 'Zero alcohol Bud Light? Really? Why not just have a cold drink of water. Water would taste better. AND less filling'

At the Super Bowl LV 2021, celebrities from different industries are making their presence be felt. While a few like Brad Pitt were seen introducing the players from the game, Post Malone with Oracle Susana featured in the Bud Light commercial, as they took it upon themselves to help a truck driver overturn a Bud Light Truck. 

The one-and-a-half minute shows a woman looking for Bud Light in the empty refrigerator at a supermarket. Parallelly, it shows a Bud Light truck full of supplies toppled on a road next to the woods. When the driver finds himself helpless, legends like Malone, Cedric the Entertainer and Oracle Susana emerge from the woods along with Bud Knight to embark on a rescue mission.

The rest of the commercials sees Bud Knight flipping the fallen truck, before getting pushed off the clip following a high-five. The scene switches back to the convenience store which is re-stocked with Bud Lights after the legends completed their mission. 

The extended cut of the commercial was released on YouTube by Bud Light nearly a week ago. While it has clocked around 115,000 views on the platform, it has managed to gather a lot of attention after featuring at Super Bowl LV. Even though the commercial has received a heads up from the audience, Bud Light, after all, may not be people’s preferred non-alcoholic drink as many have called it out for its taste. 

One tweeted, "After a slow start, the Super Bowl commercials are coming around. The Bud Light Lemon Seltzer commercial was funny. Maybe the best I've seen in years. The Toyota commercial with the foreign adoption was inspiring. Amy Schumer as the Hellmann's guardian angel was funny." Another said, "Bud light seltzer you are elite with that advertisement"

A few who seem to dislike its taste for a non-alcoholic drink used the opportunity to slam the brand. One wrote, "Zero alcohol Bud Light? Really? Why not just have a cold drink of water. Water would taste better. AND less filling." Another added, "Bud light great commercial but I still don’t like the taste of your beer" And one wrote, "Bud Light seems to think fruit flavors will make it taste better than cat piss. Nope."

The 2021 Super Bowl halftime show began at around 8 pm ET, approximately 90 minutes after kickoff. Super Bowl LV — played on February 7 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida — kicked off at 6.30 pm ET.
