'Let's have coffee': Britney Spears extends olive branch to mom Lynne amid star's bizarre Instagram posts
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Britney Spears wants to have coffee with her mother Lynne Spears. The singer invited her mother, 67, out for a coffee on Instagram on Tuesday after long complaining that she was unable to consume alcohol or coffee while under her previous conservatorship.
"Instagram doesn’t like posts of people revealing their bodies anymore so here’s a selfie of me in Mexico 🇲🇽 !!! Mom and Dad … I crossed the border and I made it !!! After no coffee for 15 years ☕️ … Mom we can go have coffee together now !!! I’m treated as an equal … let’s have coffee and talk about it !!!" Spears, 41, uploaded a cropped image of her body that was shot in Mexico along with a post to her account. It's unclear if Spears meant to invite her or if she was just being sarcastic.

Spears made a statement a few months ago following her mother's alleged daily coffee-hiding accusation. "Did you also tell people how you hid coffee every single morning ??? Did you tell them every morning when I would try to find coffee," Britney shared on Instagram, as per Page Six. Since Britney Spears was released from her conservatorship, the Spears family drama has been playing out in the open on social media. The singer criticized her mother earlier this year after she expressed regret for all the suffering she had through. "I'm sooo sorry for your pain!" Lynne penned. "I have been sorry for years! I love you so much and miss you! Please unblock me so I can speak to you in person! Britney, deep down you know how much I love and miss you! I apologize for anything and everything that's hurt you!" Britney eventually replied, "Mom take your apology and go f*** yourself!!!," as cited by Daily Mail.
The most recent post comes after Britney resolved a question that confounded many of her followers and rekindled rumors that she is not in control of her social media accounts, leading some of them to speculate that she might even be dead. Despite declaring last week that she was traveling to New York, the pop star tweeted several semi-naked pictures and videos of herself on Tuesday that she claimed were taken in Mexico. Although the deception led some admirers to believe that the singer was incapacitated or possibly dead, insiders informed TMZ that she made up her New York trip to confuse her fans and any photographers who might have tried to follow her.
According to reports, a since-deleted semi-naked shower video of Britney posted shortly after announcing the phony trip last week was shot in Mexico, and the most recent posts that she claimed to be from Mexico appear to show the same shower. The rumors that Britney hasn't been uploading her own Instagram content seem to have started with fans who couldn't believe how erratic her posts were, even if they don't represent a significant change in her behavior from recent months. However, several followers also seemed to be troubled by the fictitious trip to New York. Britney tweeted a sweet video of herself cuddling up to her husband Sam Asghari on December 13 along with a brief video of herself aboard a private jet.
In the footage, she appeared to be very excitable and kicked her legs out while playing around in the plane's bed. According to the article and her following Instagram photos, the vacation was down south to Mexico rather than out east to New York. After she announced she was heading to New York, fans became suspicious that the posts she had claimed were from Mexico were actually earlier stuff. Fans were particularly concerned about the lack of paparazzi pictures of the hitmaker in New York. However, insiders told TMZ that she and Sam had always intended to travel to Mexico for some sun and fun and that the trip to New York was a total hoax. Additionally, they insisted that the previous shower films that came after the jet post was actually recorded in Mexico and not simply reprinted from an earlier vacation.
