LONDON, ENGLAND: Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton's (Luke Newton) enchanting love story, in 'Bridgerton' Season 3, is the treat fans have been eagerly anticipating.

Part 1 of Season 3 left us on the edge with a steamy scene between the new lovebirds, leaving us craving for more. Fortunately, the wait is almost over as Part 2 arrives on Netflix on Thursday, June 13, 2024.

In the official trailer for Season 3: Part 2, released by Netflix, we see Colin and Penelope's union facing a threat from Colin's sister Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie).

Why Eloise Bridgerton could be the villain in 'Bridgerton' Season 3?

Eloise and Penelope were inseparable until their fallout in the final moments of 'Bridgerton' Season 2. Much to the surprise of viewers, their friendship hasn't repaired in Season 3.

Throughout Season 3: Part 1, Eloise exhibits rude behavior towards her former friend and even goes on to gossip about Colin helping Penelope find a suitor.

Eloise's character development has taken an unexpected turn, surprising fans of the show. She exhibits a mean streak not only towards Penelope but also towards Cressida Cowper (Jessica Madsen).

She was quick to blame Cressida for spreading Penelope's gossip and even after realizing her mistake, she didn't make a noteworthy apology, either to Cressida or to Penelope.

Even in Part 2, things don't seem to improve between them. On the contrary, Eloise's actions will continue to cause tension in Penelope's relationship with Colin.

As seen in the trailer, while the rest of the Bridgertons celebrate their engagement, Eloise warns Penelope that she can't marry Colin unless she reveals her secret identity as Lady Whistledown.

Moreover, Eloise is somehow trying to make Penelope suffer by befriending Cressida. Their newfound friendship could easily take a villainous turn in Penelope and Colin's love story, and we'll tell you how!

Will Lady Whisteldown's identity be exposed in 'Bridgerton' Season 3?

In Season 2, Eloise discovers that Penelope is Lady Whistledown, and their relationship takes a downturn from that moment. Despite feeling betrayed, Eloise has kept this secret to herself until now.

In Julia Quinn's book series, Cressida claims that she is Lady Whistledown to gain some influence in society.

Later, when Cressida discovers that Penelope is Lady Whistledown, she uses this information to blackmail her. However, Penelope, in her editorial, exposes Cressida's lies, subjecting her to social ridicule.

Eloise likely shares Penelope's secret with Cressida in Season 3: Part 2, setting the stage for Cressida to potentially blackmail Penelope.

If that happens, it would be truly disheartening for Eloise's fans to witness her transforming from an intelligent, ambitious young girl into a villain.
