'Bridgerton' Season 3: Part 2 trailer teases major Lady Whistledown twist with a lie waiting to be exposed
Contains spoilers for Netflix's 'Bridgerton' and Julia Quinn's books
LONDON, ENGLAND: Netflix has teased fans with the trailer of 'Bridgerton' Season 3: Part 2 ahead of its release on June 13. The first part of this season explored Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington's (Nicola Coughlan) brewing romance and their love story will be continued in part 2 with exciting twists and turns.
Season 3: Part 1 ended with Colin and Penelope having a steamy intimate moment in a carriage followed by the much-awaited marriage proposal. Part 2 will begin with the new couple announcing their relationship.
The excitement is at its peak as their dreamy love will be tested when Penelope will have to decide what to do about her secret identity as Lady Whistledown.
'Bridgerton' Season 3: Part 2 trailer ends with Lady Whistedown writing, "This author cannot tolerate a lie." This has left fans wondering what lie she is talking about, making them eager for the episodes to be released.
What's the lie Lady Whistledown 'can't tolerate' in 'Bridgerton' Season 3: Part 2?
While the trailer hasn't given away any hints of what one may expect, Julia Quinn's books are available to satisfy our curiosity.
In 'The Viscount Who Loved Me', a part of 'Bridgerton' books, Cressida Cowper (Jessica Madsen) claims to be Lady Whistledown believing that it would give her some influence in the society.
In her later novel, 'Romancing Mr. Bridgerton', Cressida even discovers that Penelope is Lady Whistledown and uses this information to blackmail her for money.
Cressida's lies have a major impact on Penelope, who then publishes a final edition of the Whistledown papers where she reveals that Cressida isn't Lady Whistledown.
With this sensational column, Penelope regains her anonymity while Cressida becomes subjected to public embarrassment. Going by the books, we can expect that the trailer talked about Cressida's lie claiming to be Lady Whistledown.
Lady Whistledown's identity also faces threat from Eloise Bridgerton
Penelope's best friend Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) found out about her secret identity in Season 2. They had a major fallout and their relationship hasn't repaired in Season 3 as well.
In Season 3: Part 2 trailer we see Eloise pressurizing Penelope to come clean about her identity to Colin.
Knowing that her secret identity is as precious to Penelope as her love for Colin, it would be interesting to see how she handles the entire situation.
