With everything that’s happened in the previous episode, the Bridgerton Family and the Sharma family seem to have lost faith in one another. Edwina (Charithra Chandran) has announced that she won’t marry Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and now, everyone in the aristocratic world has started to ignore them. Marriage getting canceled has obviously made them controversial and no one wants to be associated with them. It doesn’t come as a shock to anyone because they anticipated it.

However, both families try to show the world that everything that happened was done after “mutual understanding”. Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh) and Lady Violet come up with a plan of hosting a ball so that people understand that there is nothing wrong. Danbury says that it is necessary to do so that no family faces the embarrassment. Kate (Simone Ashley), Anthony, and Edwina are against such a party, but they finally agree to it.

However, before they organize a ball, they will be visiting a party together and talking to each other as if nothing happened. Lady Danbury tells Kate and Anthony that they’ll not be looking at each other during the party and will be at the opposite ends of the room. Anthony tells her mother that if this is what you want, then he’ll make sure he’ll play the part. Lady Violet talks to Anthony about what happens after the ball, he says he realizes that he has committed a mistake and he also realizes that he has “failed” at more things than she and his father will ever know. They arrive at the party and everyone is shocked to see them together. Anthony apologizes to Edwina’s mother, who finally realizes that she should have been there for her daughters because Kate has been the only one who has taken the burden of keeping the family happy.

Kate talks to Edwina and the younger sister asked her if she ever truly believed in happy endings. Kate says she does and gives the example of their parents. Edwina says that their relationship ended with a tragedy and she believes a happy ending does not exist.

The Bridgerton Family and The Sharma Family are ready for the party, but no one arrives at their ball. They are the only two families there. Anthony gets annoyed but he says that there will be a party and both families will enjoy the moment. He calls Hyacinth, his younger sister for the dance and the entire family dances, forgetting that something disastrous had occurred a couple of days back.

When they stop dancing, one of the maids gives Lady Violet a pamphlet that’s been written by Lady Whistledown and now they understand why no one arrived at the ball.

So, Lady Whistledown, aka Penelope Featherington has written about Eloise Bridgerton spent time with a man named Theo Sharpe and attended events that a royal member is not allowed to. For the uninitiated, one of the Queen's guards sees Eloise going to the printer shop and tells Queen that she can be seen wandering the streets. Queen meets Eloise and confronts her for being Lady Whistledown. Eloise says she's not the anonymous author, but Queen threatens her and asks her for being an ally or else she'll make sure that she'll suffer her whole life. She tells everything to Penelope and she writes everything about Eloise in her next edition.

It seems the entire reputation of Bridgerton has been destroyed because of what Whistledown has done.

After the party, Kate and Anthony accidentally meet outdoors and discuss how everything has gone downhill. Kate tells Anthony that everything she has done is to protect her family. One thing leads to another and they finally kiss each other. The only sex scene in the entire series happens in Episode 7 of Season 2 as they couldn’t resist showing how much they love each other.

The episode ended with Kate riding her horse and leaving everything behind. Anthony follows her in the rain and finally sees her, however, a tragic incident takes place and she falls down the horse. Her head hits at what appears to be a big rock. Anthony moves forward to save her as the ending credits appear on the screen.
