Gabby Petito's family sends Brian Laundrie's lawyer notice to stop using her pics
Gabby Petito's family sent a 'cease and desist' letter to Brian Laundrie's lawyer Steven Bertolino after his business used photos of their dead daughter on its Yelp page. Tara and Joe Petito's attorney, Richard Benson Stafford has demanded Bertolino to take down their daughter's photos by 2 pm Wednesday, September 22 or face 'further action'. Stafford noted in his letter that the Petito family initially tried to remove the photos themselves but were informed that only the business owner can add or remove photos.
Stafford's letter said, "The Petito and Schmidt family are demanding that you remove Gabby Petito's picture from your Yelp page. The family tried to remove their daughter's picture from your page and were informed that only the business owner can add or remove pictures." The letter dated September 22 further added, "Furthermore, the Petito and Schmidt family demand that you cease and desist posting pictures of Gabby Petito to any and all of your social media pages, web pages or advertisements in an effort to gain business. I am sure it will be taken care by 2 pm or I will take further action on behalf of Gabby's family."

In response to the letter, Laundrie's lawyer, Bertolino said, "This is sad. I have never used social media or any other electronic platform for advertising other than maintaining a website. I do not control the internet nor the hacks and public that have been overrunning the internet with fake comments and posts. Yesterday Yelp had shut down its page for my firm due to inordinate and unconfirmed posts." Bertolino further added, "I would certainly agree with Mr Stafford that any such post he is referring to should be removed but advise him that I have no control over that Yelp site, " as reported by Shannon Clowe.

Meanwhile, the hunt for Laundrie entered its fourth day in Florida as he was named a 'person of interest' in the case and has been missing from his home in Florida since Tuesday, September 14. An autopsy on Tuesday, September 21 confirmed that the human remains found in the Grand Teton National park in Wyoming belonged to Gabby Petito. Petito's death was ruled homicide. Bertoloni had released a statement Sept 21 that said, "May Gabby rest in peace." He had advised Laundrie to not open his mouth regarding Petito's disappearance in the beginning, especially to the cops, on the grounds that intimate partners are always vilified first.
