LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: When it comes to getting ready for a part, Hollywood legend Chris Hemsworth doesn't hold back. Hemsworth pushed Bobby Holland Hanton, the Thor actor's longtime stunt double, to the breaking point on the most recent superhero movie.

In a recent interview, the stuntman stated that the 38-year-old megastar allowed him just eight weeks to bulk up for 'Thor: Love and Thunder'. Hanton, 37, initially had trouble believing the challenge that lay before him. He recalls the time he was forced to eat chicken breasts in the middle of the night to match the Marvel star's crazy build.

Bobby Hanton had to put on 22 pounds of muscle in 8 weeks

"You've got to be kidding!" was his first response to the Hollywood star's demand, as per Ice36. In order to convert into a credible 'Thor,' Hanton, who occasionally takes the place of the celebrity in action sequences, had to put on 22 pounds of muscle and consume 4000 calories every day. Hanton, who is 1.85 meters tall compared to the Thor actor's 1.93 meters, later described his rigorous diet and exercise regimen.

'I hated it'

"I was eating up to 10 meals a day, two of those would be protein shakes," he shared. He continued: 'We [he and Chris] were training twice a day and I never thought in my life that I would be sick of food and not wanting to eat food, because I love food." The veteran of the film industry, who has collaborated with the Australian-born superstar for 15 years, claims that the training program was a true test. "I hated it," he said. "In the end, I was trying to give away food that I was supposed to eat because I just didn't want to eat it, it would almost make you feel sick because you were never, ever hungry."

'It was horrendous'

The athlete said that he has "a great relationship" with Hemsworth. "We had a really great chef that was on set and would look after Chris and me. Every two hours the alarm would go off and it would be, 'Right boys we need to eat.' It was fully planned out and the healthiest way we could do it and it was fantastic food. You’d wake up, straight away feel full and go to sleep full. It sounds ridiculous but I would cook two breasts of chicken and leave them on the kitchen side, so when I’d wake up to go to the loo half way through the night, I’d eat the chicken and then go back to sleep. It was horrendous. I never want to have to do it to that level again but the chances are Chris will want to and I will say yes again."
