Fans clearly remember the dating rumor that surrounded BTS’ V aka Kim Taehyung in October 2021 and the swiftness with which HYBE immediately denied that the K-pop star was dating an heiress. On the other hand, the whole of K-pop Twitter knows the hilarious way YG Entertainment tried to deflect the news of Blackpink’s Jennie dating EXO’s Kai by calling him her Uber driver. And with BTS’ V and Blackpink’s Jennie being one of the biggest K-pop idols in the world at the moment, fans find it suspicious that their label did not immediately address their dating rumor.

Due to toxic and delusional fans being extremely loud, dating in K-pop is considered taboo as idols are dropped and cyberbullied for getting into relationships. And so, with the rumor that BTS’ V and Blackpink’s Jennie were in Jeju Island for a date and their labels’ silence, many wondered if it was part of a larger conspiracy to defend Kim Garam of Le Sserafim. We also had YG responding to the news that they had nothing to say. Fans pointed out that if the photo was fake they would have said it is an edit.

Fans wonder why YG and HYBE would drag down their biggest artists

The timing of the dating rumor of BTS’ V and Blackpink’s Jennie seemed suspicious as both groups are set to have a comeback soon. However, there are rumors that Kim Garam who is embroiled in a school bullying scandal comes from an influential family which is why HYBE is pulling the big guns to protect her by dragging in V and Jennie. But some rational fans feel that YG would not let their artist get dragged down for a rookie of another company while HYBE would not want to jeopardise their relationship with their biggest moneymaker.

And so some fans think that Blackpink’s Jennie and BTS’ V could either indeed be dating or were targeted by trolls who want to ruin their comebacks. Knetz made posts like, “The agency hasn’t responded right away, and if they are silent it must be alright. Anyway, they look good together,” and “If you don't deny it, it must be true. They suit each other well, though.” Another brought back the time BTS’ V followed and unfollowed Jennie, “Didn't V unfollow because he accidentally followed Jennie's Instagram, but it doesn’t seem like a mistake now.”

‘What YG said made it ten times suspicious’

One fan commented, “Regardless if it’s true or not both agencies be taking forever and what YG said made it ten times suspicious 🙃 but if they’re dating then OMFG cuties.” Others pointed out that it was suspicious the labels were not denying it, “If it was an edit the companies would have already denied it,” and “BH did hurriedly deny the jungkook actress or RM insta model rumors tho which where completely baseless yet chose to ignore this one which is making headlines 🤔( jz curious).”

One added, “The fact that y’all think Bighit will address an edit and the fact that y’all think garam girl is so important and popular that hybe will use Tae and Jennie to cover it up, like be serious.” Another fan said, “All these theories and coincidences regarding V and Jennie 🤯 i dont mind them dating tbh pls normalize idols dating theyre human after all let them experience happiness w/o any burden.” One commented, “Idc if jennie and v are dating , i mean good for them if its true , and if its edited just to cover up garam scandal is sooo stupid action 😭 f**k that girl #garamOUT.”
