'Black Lightning' Season 3 Episode 7 promo teases showdown between Jefferson and the resistance over bomb
The people of Freeland are fed up with the A.S.A's oppression and they're fighting to take their city back by any means necessary. Of course, when people begin a revolt, things don't always stay on the moral high ground and that's what seems to be happening with the growing resistance in Freeland.
A promo for 'Black Lightning' Season 3 Episode 7 reveals that Inspector Bill Henderson (Damon Gupton) and his resistance fighters have graduated from covertly smuggling citizens out of the city to setting bombs. We don't know why they would do such a thing but it could be a sign that the resistance is now starting open warfare against the A.S.A.
In the clip, we see A.S.A troopers on the move and Jefferson Pierce / Black Lightning (Cress Williams) having an argument with Henderson over the resistance's methods. Henderson's willingness to condone violence for the greater good is something that's clearly not sitting well with Jefferson and his high sense of mortality.
We also see a scene with Reverend Jeremiah Holt (Clifton Powell) threatening Jefferson with a gun. It's quite shocking seeing the old reverend pulling a gun on the hero but these are trying times, after all. The scene with Holt and Black Lightning also shows the teenage Grace Choi (Stella Smith) hiding behind Jefferson. We don't know why Grace is in that situation but she's clearly scared and her life may very well be in danger. Hopefully, this could mean that Jefferson and Grace might finally warm up to each other after having such a rocky start.
With threats coming in from the A.S.A, the Markovians, and now his own friends and family, Jefferson has a difficult choice to make. No matter which side he chooses, he's bound to face losses and it all really comes down to what he would be willing to sacrifice for the sake of his city and his people.
'Black Lightning' Season 3 Episode 7 will air on The CW on November 25.
