'Black Lightning' Season 3 Episode 3 promos hint at Jefferson and Painkiller taking the fight to the Markovians

The CW released a sneak peek of the episode on October 21 showing Agent Odell tasking Painkiller with hunting down the Markovians who are currently amassing troops outside the city limits and the first promo clip released for the episode also showed Black Lightning's explosive return to the field.

'Black Lightning' Season 3 Episode 3 will see the A.S.A take the fight to the Markovians by deploying every asset they have, including the newly revived Painkiller / Khalil Payne (Jordan Calloway) and possibly Black Lightning himself. The promo video for the episode that was released immediately after last week's episode revealed that a virus of some sort had broken out in Freeland, threatening the lives of the city's metahumans and this is probably why the A.S.A has decided to go on the offensive against their foreign enemies.

The CW released a sneak peek of the episode on October 21 showing Agent Odell (Bill Duke) tasking Painkiller with hunting down the Markovians who are currently amassing troops outside the city limits. The clip reveals that Painkiller feels no remorse at all for having murdered his mother in the last episode and calmly explains to Odell how he can now kill someone with a single punch.

Clearly, this is a deadlier version of Khalil than any we have seen so far, more than capable of taking on a whole army on his own. The Markovians are going to have their hands full trying to contain the supersoldier's rampage but there might be even more trouble coming their way.

The first promo clip released for the episode also showed Black Lightning / Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) back in action, blasting people aside with a mighty burst of electricity. The synopsis for the episode also hints that Jefferson may have made a deal to enter the fray on behalf of the A.S.A, possibly in exchange for the safety of his family. Whatever deal Jefferson may have made, Lynn Stewart (Christine Adams) isn't going to be very happy about it, according to the synopsis, and considering the lovebirds already had a bit of a falling out in last week's episode, it looks like we'll be seeing even more trouble in paradise.

Here's the full official synopsis for the episode: "When Lynn (Christine Adams) learns that Jefferson (Cress Williams) brokered a deal with Agent Odell (guest star Bill Duke) without consulting her first, it begins to put a strain on their relationship. Meanwhile, Anissa (Nafessa Williams) and Grace (guest star Chantal Thuy) have an emotional encounter. China Anne McClain, Marvin Jones III, Damon Gupton and Jordan Calloway also star."

'Black Lightning' Season 3 Episode 3 will air on The CW October 21.
