The previous episode was a good turn for Vudu as she met her biological father for the first time and got to know the hidden truth about her mother and stepfather. But it was Alana who was facing troubles due to her mother's presence. Alana continues to clash with her mother after she warned her to be more careful about who she is hanging with. However, things become worse for Alana when she admits that her boyfriend was in jail.

KP and Tim discuss the blowup that happened at the staff dinner. Their conversation is cut short after the show's executive producer tells them they weren't successful when they tried to get permission from the city to film the show in the shop.  KP and Tim both get upset and disappointed with producers for going behind their back to do this. A new mayor was recently posted to the city and they needed to be there for talking with those who are in charge. Things are getting tough for KP and the IAM crew.
