EPIX’s latest western drama ‘Billy The Kid’ has been a revelation on so many levels. It’s the first time we are seeing such a comprehensive story about one of the biggest outlaws in American history and getting to know how he was as a person. The first five episodes have given us a good perspective about William H. Bonney, aka Billy (Tom Blyth), who never wants to kill people, but can’t just stand by when someone is trying to make things worse for him by doing wrong things.

However, in Episode 6 of the EPIX show, Billy realizes who is he now and how the nation sees him. Even though he knows that he is still innocent, he gets the idea that he is a famous personality now and doesn’t want anyone else to tell him what he should do. The episode starts with Billy meeting a guy named Pat Garrett (Alex Roe) in a bar, who tells him that he knows about him.

Billy is ready to work with Jesse and the team. They go around and steal the cattle from a man who is known to be the cattle king of America. The group steals the cattle and gives it to the army. However, the news of this robbery gets to the paper and it’s all about how Billy is involved with the gang, naming him one of the most destructive outlaws in American history.

At the time, Billy didn’t want to listen to such things, but it all changed when one of Jesse’s friends Frank Baker comes to meet them with work opportunities and says that it’s an honor to meet Billy. When he tells the plan to Jesse and his team, Frank asks Billy about his expertise and also announces that he’ll get the biggest slice of remuneration. That’s the moment, Billy realizes his worth.

He knows Jesse will never encourage him to go ahead. So, he stops Jesse and says that Frank is here because of him, and if anyone wants to have his services, they need to pay him for that. This is the first time, we have seen a fire burning in his eyes. He said that enough is enough, it’s his life and he will live the way he wants to.

Without any doubt, Episode 6 of the EPIX series was the best of the lot. It was filled with amazing storylines and epic action sequences. The gunfight sequence in the episode was really brilliant. It was shot amazingly and also showed that Billy still had empathy in his heart. Tom Blyth is literally the scene-stealer here. Every time he is on screen, something special happens. He has innocence in his eyes, but he’s fierce in his heart.

With only two episodes remaining, ‘Fate’ gives us a clear picture of how big Billy has become and is now a national figure, even if it’s not in a good sense.

‘Billy the Kid’ returns to EPIX with a new episode every Sunday at 9 PM EST.
