NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'The Circle' has previously cast reality stars from other Netflix programs. Season 5 is shaking things up with cast members from 'Big Brother,' such as Brett Robinson.

For the Netflix reality series 'The Circle,' Season 5 will be a season of firsts. In addition to debuting the first season of singles only, which is expected to change the game, this season is also the first to include a major cast member from a reality series not produced by Netflix. Fans of the long-running CBS series may have had to do a double take when the Season 5 cast was revealed on December 9 since one of the players was quite well-known. This season of 'The Circle' not only includes a person who was initially cast in the program but was abruptly removed, but it also includes Brett Robinson, a past contender who came close to winning the competition.

'The Circle' Season 5: 5 things you need to know about the Netflix reality series

Who is Brett Robinson?

In 2023, Brett Robinson will turn 30 as he was born on January 15, 1993. Brett is a Capricorn who was born in the Year of the Rooster. According to his own website, Brett is a native of Montville, Connecticut, and has always loved to amuse others. He earned a BSC in business and management information systems from the University of Alabama in 2016. During his undergraduate years, Brett worked as a gardener and caretaker before beginning his career with a cyber-security company in Boston. Since then, Brett has had positions as an account executive and a cyber-security officer at many companies, including CrowdStrike, VMware, Carbon Black, Inc, and the University of Arizona Office of Information Technology. Brett made the decision to change his life's course when he was 24 and entered the 'Big Brother' cast in July 2018.

For some 'Big Brother' viewers, Brett is infamous for making uncouth jokes about spelling out "anal lice" during a challenge involving scrambled words, even though he was clearly skilled at doing so. On the program, Brett was likewise not hesitant to express his opinions. He could find it more difficult to woo his fellow 'Circle' competitors with his own brand of charm. We can wager that he will attempt, though. Brett has firmly embraced his reputation as a social media influencer outside 'The Circle.' Brett also has a sizable following on Instagram and TikTok. On his official website, Brett offers 20-minute training videos while continuing to serve as a cyber-security officer. A frequent user of the social networking site hoo.be, he also has more than 200k Instagram followers.

Brett, who was well-known for being loud and conceited, got off to a solid start by joining the Level Six alliance and befriending Winston Hines. He was on the block in Weeks 3 and 5, along with Level Six allies Winston and Rachel Swindler, but he narrowly avoided being eliminated both times because his alliance decided to maintain him as a more valued member. He pretended to be an outsider in Week 7 to infiltrate the competing FOUTTE alliance, which allowed him to successfully pin FOUTTE member Scottie Salton for casting a rogue vote that contributed to his nomination the following week, though he managed to avoid eviction once more by winning the Power of Veto.

Eventually, Brett talked to Tyler Crispen about exposing Kaycee Clark and Angela Rummans, who were also part of Level Six. However, this turned out to be a catastrophic error when Tyler told Angela and Kaycee about it, which led the three of them to attack him once the FOUTTE alliance was destroyed. He was nominated and eliminated unexpectedly in the second round of the Double Eviction by a unanimous 3-0 vote, finishing sixth overall and joining the jury as its sixth member. He was nominated for America's Favorite Houseguest on finale night alongside Tyler and Haleigh Broucher, but Tyler won. In 'Big Brother' Season 20, only Brett was able to utilize the Power of Veto on himself while still being nominated.

Before the Week 2 Power of Veto battle of Big Brother Season 21, Brett promoted 'Love Island' alongside other 'Big Brother' Season 20 houseguests Winston Hines, Chris Williams, and Bayleigh Dayton. Additionally, the four travelled to Fiji to conduct pre-season promotion for 'Love Island.' Together with Marvin Achi, Brett will now compete in Season 5 of the Netflix series 'The Circle.'

Although there isn't much information available regarding Season 5 of 'The Circle' just yet, it appears that Brett won't be one of the inevitable catfish we'll see this time around based on the trailer. Again, if he is unable to communicate with the other players directly and openly, it could be challenging for him to let his personality show through. Brett was aware that 'The Circle' is different from 'Big Brother' when he decided to participate in the program. Even if he is able to create alliances with other players, it may still be a rather lonely game. Like he did with 'Big Brother' viewers, Brett should be able to settle in and make an impact on Circle fans. Brett stated in his introduction video that he is not only enjoying a "hot boy summer," but also a "hot boy year."

On December 28 at 03:01 ET, the first four episodes of 'The Circle' will be available on Netflix. The next eight episodes will debut between January 4 and January 11, with four episodes releasing simultaneously every Wednesday. On January 18 at 3 am ET, Netflix will release the season finale.
