Videos and photos of President Joe Biden have gone viral on the internet that showed him walking inside of a classy​ restaurant in Washington, DC without a face mask, despite it being mandatory in the city. Since the end of July, masks have been made compulsory for everyone inside Washington. The mandate states, “This guidance presents recommendations that the general public should follow for wearing face masks (or cloth face coverings) to help prevent the spread of Covid-19, and it also provides the rules that must be followed for masking indoors, even for fully vaccinated persons. This update is based on CDC (US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) mask guidance updates published on 7/27/21.”

It also mentions the dangers of the Delta Variant and adds, “It is much more contagious than the original strain of the Covid-19 virus and is spreading rapidly in the United States. The latest research shows that even fully vaccinated people can spread the Delta variant to others. The threat of the Delta variant makes it even more important for us all to do our part by following mask recommendations and getting vaccinated as soon as possible.”

Meanwhile, the Fiola Mare restaurant’s menu is the representation of the “true definition of fine Italian coastal cuisine, changing daily and seasonally to feature the finest, freshest ingredients available.” Not just about the quality of its food, the extravagant restaurant also cares about the government rules. On its website, it writes, “Per CDC guidance and DC Mayor Muriel Bowser’s executive order,  all individuals over age 2 are required to wear a mask indoors, regardless of vaccination status. Masks must be always worn while in our restaurants, except while eating and drinking.  Thank you for understanding.” However, what happened to its mask policy on Saturday night is not clear yet.

As the clips of Biden and the first lady without masks went viral, several of their critics took to Twitter to comment. A user wrote, “It’s not what he did. It’s the hypocrisy of it all. Public sees this, they see all of the migrants and refugees coming in unvaxxed and then has the gall to install mandates to get vaxxed or lose your livelihood ?  If someone can explain to me why this is acceptable I’m all ears.” The second one tweeted sarcastically, “He’s a special privileged person he doesn’t need a mask.  Covid knows to stay clear of the privileged.” “Sometimes I see protests like this video as a real request for them act as they made you to act. My point of view is use their hypocrisy as argue for don't follow their rules. I not even want them acting this way,” the third one added.

A person noted, “Yesterday, he met with a african war lord for mineral rights. We asking why he was wear a mask with that corrupt person. A democrat told us that idiot joe is setting the example for masks. At a baseball game he didn't when he cornered a young woman in the dugout, no mask again.” Another one fired, “Notice how his DC fanbase there couldn't care less and neither does anyone in the media? If this was Trump, walking out of a fancy, upscale restaurant with no mask on, we'd be hearing 24/7 about how he's a rich, black hearted elitist who hates America. In reality, that's them.”
