'Besties forever': Internet heartbroken over childhood pictures of Kaylee Goncalves and Madison Mogen

MOSCOW, IDAHO: As parents and fellow students paid their last tributes to slain University of Idaho students on Wednesday, November 30, netizens too felt their hearts breaking as they scrolled through the childhood photos of Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves. A number of pictures of the two friends from their childhood showed they were truly "Besties forever."
Mogen and Goncalves were seen hanging out on various occasions such as attending a concert and going to the beach among others. In one of her Instagram posts, Mogen wished Goncalves a happy birthday, writing, “Happy happy birthday to my bestest friend in the entire world.”

Several social media users also reacted to these old pictures as one person wrote, “Wow they really were best friends.” “She was so beautiful, these deaths haven’t been out of my mind all day. I feel soooo sorry for them and their friends and family life is short y’all,” another said.
“Rest in peace to these beautiful angels. You girls were the definition of what best friends are and what every girl wants in life, a real best friend. God bless the families,” yet another user remarked. Mogen, 21, and Goncalves, 21, were discovered dead on the second and third floors of their off-campus rental home along with Xana Kernodle, 20, and her boyfriend Ethan Chapin, 20. They had died due to stab wounds on November 13.
According to NBC News, during the vigil, Kaylee’s father Steven said, “We’re going to get our justice. We’re going to figure this stuff out. This community deserves that.” Police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
