Athena Likis dodges bottom on 'RuPauls Drag Race Global All Stars' but faces uncertainty after 'mediocre' performance
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Athena Likis may have dodged the bottom this week on 'RuPaul’s Drag Race: Global All Stars', but it wasn’t her performance that kept her safe—it was her costume and color palette. While other queens brought their A-game in terms of both execution and creativity, Athena's look stood out enough to earn her a pass. The vibrant colors and striking design of her outfit drew attention away from her less-than-stellar performance, which otherwise might have landed her in hot water. However, relying on aesthetics alone won't carry her through next week's challenges. If she doesn't step up her game, Athena could find herself in real trouble.
In the original season on 'Drag Race Belgique', Athena Likis stood out because of her amazing creativity, especially with makeovers and costumes. Right from the beginning, Athena showed she had a unique way of doing drag, always bringing fresh and unexpected ideas to the stage. One of her best moments was during the makeover challenge, where she really excelled. Athena created a matching, stunning look for her makeover partner that showed off her own drag style while also making her partner look fantastic.
Whether it was a backward suit or a bold, artistic look, Athena’s fashion sense was always on point. Even though she had a tough time in a comedy challenge, Athena’s skills in makeovers and costume design helped her stay at the top of the competition, which is something she should work on this new season, if she wants to grab the title and the cash prize that comes with it.
Athena Likis wants to represent small franchise
Athena Likis is determined to showcase the artistry from her home country, Belgium, on the global stage. Having reached the top four in her original season of 'Drag Race Belgique', she aims to prove that even queens from smaller franchises can shine brightly on a worldwide platform.
Athena says to Pride, "I want to showcase the way we create concepts and that you can be from a small franchise, a small country, and still be there on a global phenomenon TV show." Her goal is to highlight how unique and impactful drag can be, regardless of where it originates.
