Astroworld: Eyewitness says she was surrounded by lifeless bodies at 'demonic' concert
A TikToker who claimed to have attended the Astroworld Fest 2021 on Friday, November 5, described the event as "hell," where she was surrounded by "lifeless bodies" and "sinkholes of people" in the crowd.
Brooke Elliott posted a video on TikTok, describing her experiences of attending the Houston festival, where eight people died during a stampede that ensued from a crowd surge. The "mass casualty" even as it was described by the authorities, which also left hundreds of others injured, took place during rapper Travis Scott's performance. Elliott took to TikTok, saying, "I've never experienced anything like that in my entire life. Probably because I've never been surrounded by so many lifeless bodies. I haven't been able to stop thinking about what was happening all around me. It was so demonic. The energy was so demonic. The set was demonic. Travis was demonic. We were literally in hell – it felt like we were in hell."

With about 50,000 people attending the sold-out event, Houston Fire Chief Sam Pena during a news conference described it as a "mass casualty" incident which was largely triggered when the crowd began "to compress toward the front of the stage" just after 9 pm. This sparked panic and started causing some injuries. "We had scores of individuals that were injured," Pena said. "People began to fall out, become unconscious and it created additional panic."
He added that 17 people were transported to local hospitals, 11 of whom suffered cardiac arrest. He confirmed that one patient was only 10 years old. Over 300 people had to be treated at the field hospital set up near the festival. All of this happened due to a crowd surge.
Travis Scott agreed to pay for funerals, refund concert tickets
In the light of the tragedy that befell concertgoers at the Astroworld Fest, Travis Scott revealed that he will provide full refunds for all attendees who bought tickets to the musical event, sources have claimed. A number of witnesses have, however, claimed that Scott did not do enough to help his wounded fans. The rapper has also offered to pay the funeral expenses of the eight victims of the deadly stampede. Scott recently announced that he has partnered with BetterHelp to provide free therapy for people impacted by the event.
Scott, who was set to perform at this weekend’s Day N Vegas Festival, has decided not to appear for the show following the Astroworld tragedy. The Day N Vegas Festival was scheduled to take place on November 13 at Las Vegas Festival Grounds. From 10.45 pm to 11.45 pm, Scott was set to hit the main stage. Roddy Ricch, who had played ahead of Scott at the Astroworld festival, has a main stage slot at Day N Vegas on November 12, where Kendrick Lamar is set to headline.
