It was Week 3 when the 'Artificial: Remote Intelligence' audience gathered to vote on the personality traits and personal backstory of a brand new character, developed live with showrunner Bernie Su. The chat made its voice heard and designed Kira, whom they decided would be Justin's (Justin Lee) ex-girlfriend, and she's set to make her first appearance on Week 6 of the show.

Of course, that's not the only development from the last story episode that's going to have a significant impact on events going forward. Dr Matt Lin (Tohoru Masamune), initially opposed to the creation of a new AI, is convinced by Sebastian (Stephen Chang) to join the team that is responsible for Lilith's (Tiffany Chu) development. Currently supervised by Justin and Elle (Christy St. John), Lilith's progress towards becoming more human has developed a lot faster than Sophie's (Tiffany Chu) did - although one of the big reveals last episode is that becoming more human is not Lilith's end goal. It's one of the many questions raised by the episode, as it seems everyone has their own secret agenda that the audience is unaware of.

Despite never having appeared or been mentioned on the show before, the audience knows a fair bit about Kira, having developed her. Most significantly, besides being Justin's ex, she is also a private investigator and if a private investigator is looking into Lilith's development, it means that there is a lot more going on behind the scenes than just the development of an AI. What is Kira up to and is it going to come into direct conflict with whatever Sebastian himself is up to?

Lilith, for her part, seems largely unaware of the complications surrounding her. Her greatest concern so far is that Dr Matt Lin - her indirect creator - dislikes her. She seeks his approval, though the fact that she bears Sophie's face and a fair number of her mannerisms will certainly be helpful in convincing Matt that she is, at the very least, worth keeping alive. How the relationship between the two will develop is yet to be seen and as always, maybe entirely in the audience's hands.

This episode of 'Artificial: Remote Intelligence' airs at 5 pm PT, on Twitch.tv/ArtificalNext.
