Horrified father saves his daughter, 2, from coyote who tried to drag her away outside their LA home
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A horrifying tragic incident unfolded outside a Los Angeles home when a two-year-old toddler was attacked by a coyote. The little girl was being dragged by her feet by the animal when her appalled father witnessed the ordeal. The shocking broad daylight attack took place on Friday, December 2, 2022, and was captured on the family's doorbell camera.
In the video, the girl's father Ariel Eliyahuo appeared to be packing up the family's black SUV outside their Woodland home when a coyote sneaks up on the oblivious toddler. The animal then runs to the tot and she's seen being knocked off her feet while the coyote tries to drag her away by her legs. The child starts crying frantically which alerts the father.

Eliyahuo then rushes over to rescue his child and scoops her up and shouts at the wild animal in an attempt to scare it. The panicked father then picks up a plastic water bottle and throws it at the coyote. “I heard her screaming and crying and I thought she fell down and I saw the coyote was there,” Eliyahuo told NBC 4. The 2-year-old's mother, Shira Eliyahuo, who was inside the house ran frantically from the front door to her little daughter’s aid.
The little girl suffered some injuries but fortunately, it was not life-threatening. "I saw her pants were stained with blood, then I took them off and noticed they had scratches,” Shira said, adding “We had to get a rabies shot and just hope everything is going to be OK,” according to New York Post.
The couple has lived in their Los Angeles neighborhood for three years and said they frequently witness coyotes and other wild animals in the community but the animals are usually scared of people “There are a lot of coyotes here we see but they usually run away,” her mother added.
The toddler was treated with a rabies shot. California officials took the young girl's bloody clothes in order to match the DNA with the coyote so they can trap and euthanize the animal, according to the source. Since the attack, the two-year-old is frightened to go outside, according to her parents.
