Democrats reportedly don't want President Joe Biden to have full control over the nation’s nuclear weapons. According to a report by Politico, on Monday, February 22, around three dozen House Democrats urged the 78-year-old to renounce his sole authority over nuclear weapons. A letter spearheaded by Representative Jimmy Panetta of California said, “...Vesting one person with this authority entails real risks. Past presidents have threatened to attack other countries with nuclear weapons or exhibited behavior that caused other officials to express concern about the president’s judgment.”

It added: “While any president would presumably consult with advisors before ordering a nuclear attack, there is no requirement to do so. The military is obligated to carry out the order if they assess it is legal under the laws of war. Under the current posture of U.S. nuclear forces, that attack would happen in minutes.” The Democrats have also suggested several alternatives to it, which included giving some power to the vice president and the speaker of the House — “neither of whom can be removed by the president if they disagree — to concur with a launch order.”

Twitter was also buzzing after the news broke out as one user tweeted while taking a dig at Biden, “Joe Biden is mentally compromised and they know it.” The second user noted, “Do they understand the process for initiating a nuclear launch? Joe (or any Prez including Orange Man, for that matter) doesn't just push a red button. There are safeguards.” One person said, “Even THEY know nobody's home: The #Democrats are now openly admitting they scammed the American people when they installed senile @JoeBiden as president. Dozens of House Dems call on Biden to relinquish sole authority to launch nuclear weapons.”

“Iran is TESTING Joe Biden Iran backed terrorists fired missiles at our US Embassy Joe Biden has done nothing Iran was scared to test President Trump. President Trump 'took out' Iran’s General Soleimani Iran must not get Nuclear Weapons We need a TOUGH GUY as President,” a user commented. Another one said, “sleepy creep joe @JoeBiden dosnt even know what  day or time it is FFS he has his fingers on the nuclear weapons SMH.”

“@JoeBiden please go pass avis and abolish your military you don't need an army or nuclear weapons of any kind words are powerful. Take a good look an example Costa Rica know that country still have a better government true pice no military but high equality,” a person suggested.

Meanwhile, another unrelated report stated that Biden took a dig at his predecessor as he said in a reference to former President Donald Trump during a remote White House event for Black essential workers about the coronavirus, “I think there's a growing awareness that, you know, injecting bleach into your system doesn't do it for you."

Continuing further, he said, “I'm glad, I can't tell you how much different you're making. We've met with people all over the country via this means, and I think there's a growing awareness that, you know, injecting bleach into your system doesn't do it for you. I'm being serious -- you know, I mean, think about all the ridiculous things -- and there is online, still, there are those who are, you know, the vaccine deniers, and telling all these stories about what's - that aren't true,” before adding, “So, I really appreciate you and your colleagues across the country who are continuing to push and say, ‘No, if you can get a vaccine, get it. If you can get it, get it as quickly as you can.’ Socially distance, we're now doing a study, the COVID team, they're studying whether or not once you've had the vaccine, and you've had it for the better part of several weeks, the last shot, what, what can you do and not do in terms of being sure that you are safe? Do you still wear masks? Do you still socially distance? Etc."
