The Cody boys are back and they have already started to show no one can mess with them, even if it’s someone who knew their mother, Smurf. In Season 5, we saw how Gia (Karina Lague) abandoned them and the Codys took that personally. They were in no mood to hear Gia’s excuses for how it was necessary for her to do that and left her. However, Gia knows how important they are to her and can be used in doing some of her work.

In the premiere episode of Season 6, we see Gia returning to the Codys for a job and telling them that a new girl in town is eating her business up by doing more sales than her. J still feels that Gia shouldn't be here and should go away. Meanwhile, Gia believes that it's time to burn the bridges.

While talking about the job, she believes that the other girl has contacts with some really influential people and that’s why she is able to work in the neighborhood. Gia wants the Cody Boys to get her out of the equation so that her (Gia) business could flourish. Pope (Shawn Hatosy) tells her that they need some time to think. Eventually, they take up the job and start planning for it.

'Animal Kingdom' Season 6 Episode 1 Review: A triumphant start for the gang's final journey

'Animal Kingdom' Season 6 Episode 1: Codys burn Gia's shop to the ground for abandoning them

The roof of the girl’s showroom and warehouse is really solid, so Andrew had to make a machine to pierce that. But that would create a lot of noise and they would be caught. They come up with a plan that J would use rockets that are used during celebrations and burst them while the others will do their work. The bursting of those rockets will help them in suppressing the voice of that machine.

A few moments later, they finally get in and start taking up some really expensive things from the showroom before setting it on fire. However, we soon get to see that the Cody Boys actually burnt Gia’s showroom and took revenge on her. Even though Gia threatened Andrew with facing the consequences, fans loved what they saw and how the Cody Boys came together to burn Gia’s shop to the ground.

Fans said that Gia should have never been disloyal to the Codys because they come up for anyone who abandoned them in their tough times. One of the fans wrote, “They didn't burn bridges, they burned you tf out lol.” Another fan tweeted, “LMFAOOO THEY DID NOT GIVE US ENOUGH TIME TO RECOVER FROM THAT. talk about burning bridges LMFAOOOO.”

“I didn’t see that coming. Don’t f**k with the Codys, Gia,” wrote another social media user.

Meanwhile, one of the fans noted that Gia was no longer an ally of the Codys and her purpose no longer served the Cody Family, so they decided to do such a drastic thing. The user tweeted, “Look, lady, they get their grudge-holding from their matriarch. Smurf never let anyone get away with anything if they couldn’t serve a bigger purpose for her. And you proved your purpose no longer served the Cody’s.”

Another fan wrote, “Guess, Gia learned the hard way about never crossing the Cody's. Loyalty is everything!!!”  Another fan said, “Gia got what she deserved, not what she wanted.”

“Damn, they screwed Gia big time. Dicey,” wrote another one.

At the end of the scene, Gia told Pope that they will face consequences because her investors won’t be happy after learning that the Codys set her showroom on fire. Pope lets Gia know that he is ready to face consequences and ready to take down anyone who comes in front of him.

It’ll be interesting to see how Gia and her allies try taking revenge on the Codys. Nevertheless, fans really loved how Pope, Craig, Deran, and J came together for this job and they want them to stick together if they need to survive.

‘Animal Kingdom’ Season 6 returns to TNT with a new episode every Sunday at 9 pm EST.
