'And We Go Green' is one of those much-anticipated sports documentaries the US has been waiting for. While there is a still a good day to go before it hits Hulu on June 4, the early reactions for the Leonardo DiCaprio-produced documentary that puts Formula E electric car racing in the spotlight along with its massive positive impact in fending off major issues like air pollution and global warming are here.

The early reactions swing between meandering and interesting. Chicago Sun-Times in its review said, "It seems like “And We Go Green” is really a long commercial for Formula E, with a little soap opera among the drivers thrown in and a peek into the tech of the cars." In addition, it also calls it "not compelling." Roadshow, by CNET, however, gave the documentary a thumbs-up as it said the audience and race nerds would love to see an electric piece on content.

Red Wood Falls Gazette termed it "slick and fast-moving," 'And We Go Green' is written by Mark Monroe and had its early release at the 2019 Cannes and Toronto Film Festivals. The documentary provides an exclusive look at the ABB FIA Formula E Championship following its meteoric rise in the world of racing. In addition to a DiCaprio cameo, it also features interviews with Formula E current champion, Jean-Eric Vergne and also includes British racing driver Sam Bird, Brazilian racing driver Lucas di Grassi, and German racing driver André Lotterer.

Fans who caught the documentary early in the UK took to Twitter to share their opinions. "And We Go Green" was awesome!! Cool, aggressive, honest, and brutal, it was so satisfying. And I loved every scene with @sambirdofficial in it.  #AndWeGoGreen," a fan wrote. "A warning for And We Go Green; the Canal+ edit did not have it but the one on Channel 4 includes footage of the Bianchi crash," a fan said.  "I’m watching the @FIAFormulaE documentary ‘And We Go Green’. Is @JackNichollsF1E’s commentary piped out over the PA at every race? That’s great if so," another fan tweeted.

Racing fans in the US will have to wait a day more as 'And We Go Green' debuts June 4 on Hulu.
