The mummified dead body of 45-year-old cult leader Amy Carlson aka 'Mother God' had been discovered at a home in Colorado earlier this year. Now, her autopsy result has confirmed the shocking cause of her death. A former McDonald's employee from Texas, Carlson was the leader of Love Has Won cult, which had more than a hundred followers and admirers. The sect was founded by her in 2018 after she left her husband and three kids behind in Texas. She was referred to as 'Mother', 'Mom' or 'Mother God' by the cult members. In the last photos published prior to her death, Carlson appeared emaciated with an eerie blue tinge to her skin.

Carlson's body was found in April 2021 in a horrific manner at a house in Crestone, Colorado. The owner of the house has been reported to be Miguel Lamboy, a former member of the group. Carlson had actually died in California, but her followers took her corpse to Lamboy's empty house, wrapped the body in a green sleeping bag, and covered her face in glittery makeup. A golden crown, encrusted with blue and green stone was also placed on the head. Her body had several necklaces and pendants around the neck and was adorned with fairy lights.

Carlson's body was first discovered by homeowner Miguel Lamboy who returned about a month later. He then informed the police about the same. Upon arrival, cops were welcomed by a cult member who said, "Mother is in resting. She has rested." In total, seven adults and two children were found guarding Carlson's corpse in the house. They were arrested and charged with the abuse of a corpse and child abuse, for including kids in their bizarre, unnatural activities.

The mummified corpse was carefully preserved for over a month by the time cops found it. A tie-dye fleece shawl was placed around her shoulders and a faux-fur scarf and bandana were wrapped around her neck. Carlson's mummy was also wearing grey sweatpants and two pairs of fluffy socks. Alongside the body, 'eight small brown bottles with medicine droppers that were colorfully labeled', were discovered which were confiscated as evidence.

The horrific yet surreal scene reportedly made one of the reporting police officers laugh out loud while probing the case. The followers in the house reportedly believed that Carlson was 19 billion years old and was the reincarnation of Jesus, Joan of Arc, Marilyn Monroe, and Cleopatra, among other iconic figures in history. During her lifetime, the leader also told followers that she hailed from the mythical land of Lemuria and has recovered 'obscure technology' that caused the sinking of the mythical city of Atlantis.

How did Amy Carlson die?

According to autopsy reports, Amy Carlson died of alcohol abuse, anorexia, and long-term intake of colloidal silver in lethal dosage. Colloidal silver happens to be a dubious dietary supplement, often prescribed by quack doctors and healers to cure cancer, HIV, AIDS, or Covid. The prolonged intake of the substance reportedly caused an irreversible condition called argyria in Carlson, which damaged her stomach and liver and also rendered a blue-grey tint to her skin. In 2020, Carlson had made an appearance on Dr. Phil and revealed that she was suffering from cancer.

The manner of her death was considered to be 'natural'. Coroner Emily Russell stated, "Based on the information available to me at the time of report it is my opinion that Amy Renee Stroud (Carlson), a 45-year-old adult white female, died as a result of global decline in the setting of alcohol abuse, anorexia, and chronic colloidal silver ingestion."

When Carlson's body was found, she appeared eyeless, sparking theories that her eyes had been removed post-death. However, the autopsy has revealed that the eyes simply decomposed over time. The small brown bottles found beside her corpse contained a series of metals including colloidal titanium, gold, and silver, among others. The same substances, which are quite harmful when consumed, are sold by Love Has Won cult online as supplements and cures for various ailments.
