LITTLETON, COLORADO: The police in Littleton have made an arrest for the crime that took place on January 28, 2021. Phillip Dent targeted a woman who was getting her van cleaned at a car wash when he walked in, opened the driver's side door, and pulled her out.

The crime happened at the Atlantis Car Wash on South Federal Circle and CCTV footage showed him walking in wearing a cap that covered his face partially. He walked in calmly, opened the door, and began pulling the woman's hand aggressively. She tried to fight him off using her steering for support to keep herself anchored on the seat. However, she gave up after he grabbed her by the neck and slammed her to the ground after which the criminal drove away from the scene.

Who is Phillip Dent?

Phillip Michael Dent was arrested on March 19, 2021, and is being held on charges of robbery, assault, motor vehicle theft, arson, second-degree burglary, theft, and criminal trespass. Investigators say that the 63-year-old woman in the driver's seat was not gravely injured during the ordeal.

"Littleton Police Investigating Carjacking. Anyone who may recognize this suspect or has any information regarding this crime to contact Detective Shiller at 303-795-3882. Investigators at the time of the crime had said that the suspect was a white man, probably in his 40s and the van he hijacked was a 2011 grey Toyota Sienna with a South Dakota license plate with a "Practice Aloha" sticker on the back. It was only after the accused, Dent, grabbed and bit the woman that she let go of her grip on her car steering and fell to the ground.

Dent was arrested at a hotel in the area of the 36th and Quebec Street in Denver after police in Littleton received information of his whereabouts. The carjacking video was a part of an episode of 'America's Most Wanted', the series which has been credited with the capture of many criminals including the ones on the FBI's Most Wanted List. A local tipster called the Littleton Police Department in Denver, Colorado and the station was able to track down the fugitive Phillip Dent and his arrest marked the series' 1187th capture.
