'America's Got Talent' season 14 final: Detroit Youth Choir comes in second but fans say the group doesn't deserve it

Coming in second after performing the same song thrice, is almost like sitting in the same grade for three years and coming out in the top.

Detroit Youth Choir might have taken home the silver on 'America's Got Talent' season 14, but they didn't deserve even the bronze!

'America's Got Talent' season 14 closed its curtains on Wednesday night after it aired with the finale. Taking home the season title this year was none other than 22-year-old autistic and blind pianist and singer Kodi Lee. Kodi also won a large sum of $1 million and a chance to headline a show in Paris Las Vegas.

Kodi deserved every bit of that win. Ever since his audition for this season, he has been blowing the roof off with his performance. Coming in second and taking home the silver was Detroit Youth Choir, and to be honest, no matter how talented these kids were, they clearly didn't deserve to be placed second.

Detroit Youth Choir turned heads during their audition performance when they performed 'Can't Hold Us' by Macklemore. It was a powerful performance that put them on the frontrunner charts. Apart from winning hearts, they also won host Terry Crews' Golden Buzzer. It was quite an emotional moment.

Making it directly to the quarterfinals, DYC continued to impress the judges and viewers and made it till the finals by gaining America's vote. While everyone was excited to see what they were going to bring to the stage during the finale that aired on Tuesday night, DYC disappointed fans and viewers by performing their audition song once again.

Immediately after their performance fans took to social media to share their disappointment with the choir and their song choice. After facing the backlash, Detroit Youth Choir returned on Wednesday night during the grand finale results and performed the same song yet again. But, this time, they at least had Macklemore performing along with them, so that made sense.

But for them to perform the same song for something as huge as the grand finale was what did not sit well with ardent fans of the show. Coming in second after performing the same song thrice, is almost like sitting in the same grade for three years and coming out in the top. Though it might be a joyous time, it was not deserved. There were other acts that performed way better than Detroit Youth Choir and deserved the spot, and fans agree.  Many were shocked that V. Unbeatable the Indian dance group was overlooked for the spot when week after week their performances had been different, brilliant and entertaining. To see them sit at the fourth spot was not an easy thing to digest.

"Congrats to Kodi Lee first off. But second, Detroit Youth Choir wasn’t that good through out this competition. Top 2? Really??? Nah man. They’re average. But they’re not that great. Give me a break man. #AGT," wrote a fan on Twitter.

"So what you are telling me is, the Detroit youth choir made it top 2 over V. Unbeatable?? Did people forget that they did a song twice??? #AGTFinale #agt," said another fan. Adding to that a fan wrote, "DETROIT YOUTH CHOIR?? ARE YOU F****N KIDDING ME?? #agt."

These kids are talented and there's no doubt in that, but in all honesty, if one looks at the results without being biased, they didn't deserve to come in second.
