'American Idol' Season 22 viewers call Kayko an 'industry plant' after he advances to the Top 14
SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA: 'American Idol' Season 22 contestant Sam Kelly-Cohen aka Kayko has recently bagged a spot in the Top 14 but the viewers were disappointed with the result. During the episode, Kayko graced the ABC show stage with his another original songs.
The songwriter and producer performed, 'What If' and instantly impressed the judges, Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. He also notably impressed Ryan Seacrest as he was excited that his favourite contestant was safe from the elimination. The ABC show host called Kayko the "king of originals."
Kayko was previously 'megastar' by Katy and she also claimed, "I'm excited for the next five years of your life. I'm going to go see you on tour." Kayko has performed only his original songs in the ABC show so far and was accused of using the show to promote his band.
However, after the aspiring singer has advanced to the next round without being in the danger zone, the viewers doubt if he is the 'industry plant'. A social media user accused, "Kayko is an industry plant. No way he’s made it this far, he’s ass. Also, DID HE PLAY USNAVI?! WHAT THE FUCK GET HIM OUT OF HERE."
Another X user commented, "Kayko is probably an industry plant. This is ridiculous." Another internet user tweeted, "Kayko cannot sing, he’s just a songwriter & I have a problem with him making it over CLEARLY BETTER VOCALISTS."
Another person noted, "Can we all agree Kayko does NOT deserve this? His voice is average. His songs are great, but that's not what American idol is about." Another viewer claimed, "How does Kayko get through and not Nya?!!!"
