'American Idol': Lady K mocked for wrong song choice, fans ask her not to ‘overthink’

Lady K earlier wanted to pick ‘Cornbread’ by Fantasia Barrino but she ultimately went for ‘Before He Cheats’ by Carrie Underwood

Lady K, whose real name is Kezia Istonia, was one of the singers who performed at Disney’s Aulani resort as a part of the top 24 performances. Part two from the Disney resort aired on Monday, April 11, also saw other singers like Noah Thompson, Katyrah Love, Allegra Miles, and Ava Maybee among others trying to grab a spot on the coveted top 20 list.
 
Lady K decided to impress the judges with her rendition of ‘Before He Cheats’ by Carrie Underwood. Fans in one of the earlier episodes had asked for a platinum ticket for Lady K but they might have had a change of heart after they felt she picked the wrong song for her latest. She earlier wanted to pick ‘Cornbread’ by Fantasia Barrino but ultimately went for another one. Speaking of her performance, Luke Bryan told Lady K that he wanted to hear even more of that angst out of her. Lionel Richie, on the other hand, stated, “This is from homeless to Hawaii. For her to come this far, I know there's a town screaming for you, but more importantly, it's for you." Katy Perry decided to compliment Lady K's outfit saying, “I know you can get a little bit more dirty.”

‘Not really sure if Lady K picked the right song’

Rushing to Twitter in order to react to Lady K’s latest performance on the singing reality show, one user stated, “Such a great vocalist. I want to see @MusicByLadyK go far. We didn’t get to see her much in the Hollywood rounds but don’t sleep on this singing sister! She has the voice and stage presence.” Whereas, another shared, “superb superb.. One doesn't really need an extended listening or simple a segment itself would the variety , brilliance in the voice sufficient An assured voice, so  suggests a validating of a best performance. a Best ref, of course other competitors yet to come.”
 
The next one asserted, “Not really sure if Lady K picked the right song for this week, but I'm really happy that she's having fun and she's savoring every single moment.” Meanwhile, one person tweeted, “Lady k was disappointing. She can actually sing too. Should’ve sang tasia.”  Another stated, “Oh no, Lady K is so awesome, but that song was not the right song. The other song would have absolutely killed. Don’t overthink it girl! You got this, just do you.” And, one user concluded, “Lady K can sing she just gotta work on performing.”
