Following a thrilling evening of duet rounds, it was time for ‘American Idol’s ‘Showstoppers’ episode where judges picked the top 24. Judges namely Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan were at their mischievous best as they left many singers in shock before announcing the results in the episode aired on Monday, April 4. The same incident happened when platinum ticket winner Jay Copeland showed up for his performance with the band.

Copeland, who got to skip the first round of the Hollywood Week, was in complete shock when Perry played a little prank on the singer saying he could not make it to Top 24 which left the young crooner in complete shock. Copeland had performed ‘Jar of Hearts’ by Christina Perri. Taking the stage for their first time with a band, Idol hopeful Copeland sang his heart out but the prank played by Perry also left the Internet stunned. However, in the end, it was all good as Copeland made it to the coveted list of Top 24.
