‘American Idol’: Allegra Miles earns judges' praise but fans say ‘her jaw is wired shut’

Part two of 'American Idol' season 20's top 24 performances returned on ABC on Monday, April 11 saw singers Lady K, Noah Thompson, Sir Blayke, and Ava Maybee among a few others performing to grab a spot on the top 20 list. The episode continued from Disney’s Aulani resort where all the performances were held in front of the judges along with a live audience. Singer Allegra Miles too hit the stage with her rendition of Harry Styles’ ‘Adore You’.
 
Allegra Miles, who was one of the contestants on season 18 of ‘The Voice’, sang her heart out saying before the performance that she was much more confident on stage than earlier. Bebe Rexha was brought in as the mentor for the episode whereas country singer Jimmie Allen took the responsibility for the same in the previous episode. Speaking to Allegra, Lionel Richie said that she was a stylist on stage and she should get used to that freedom. Luke Bryan too spoke about her saying her voice literally sounded like it had a filter already on it whereas, Katy Perry dubbed her voice “unique”.

Social media users gave a mixed bag of reactions to Allegra Miles’ top 24 performance. “Not a fan of Allegra… super boring performance!!”, said one user as another posted, “Allegra’s performance of Harry Styles’ “Adore You” is very relaxing. She was excellent tonight!!!” The next one stated, “Allegra has always had a good voice ever since her days on the Voice. She can go as far as she pushes herself.” Whereas, one posted, “Allegra is so amazing. She will be atleast top 10 for sure!” Another said, “Allegra sounds like her jaw is wire shut”, as another concluded, “Not feeling the song choice Allegra.”
