Amber Heard's team slammed for criticizing Johnny Depp's lawyers for 'victory lap' interviews
Amber Heard was slammed after one of her representatives criticized Johnny Depp's attorneys for holding interviews following the defamation trial.
Depp's attorneys Camille Vasquez and Ben Chew are slated to appear for interviews on 'Good Morning America' and the 'Today' show on Wednesday, June 8. A spokesperson for Heard has since called the scheduled appearances "unprofessional" and a "victory lap". "It is as unseemly as it is unprofessional that Johnny Depp's legal team has chosen to do a victory lap for setting back decades of how women can be treated in the courtroom. What’s next? A movie deal and merchandising?" the spox told Fox News in a statement.

The backlash against Heard, 36, was swift, with some noting how her attorney Elaine Bredehoft did a TV interview just a day after losing the case.
"Attn spokesperson: We don't need a statement every time JD or his team makes a move. We're good," writer Marielle Songy commented.
"@realamberheard Oh, so that wasn't your attorney, Elaine, doing an interview almost the next day only to be told by a former NFL player not to blame the other team after a hard loss, but to look in the mirror and accept the reality?" one Twitter user wrote.
"Her team needs to stop with these statements, she lost! we don't need her 2 cents every time he or his team engages in MOVING on with their lives; her 'team' tried to reshape the 'narrative' they no longer get to claim is based on facts. MSM needs to stop enabling Amber Heard, now," another added.
"I thought amber said she wanted nothing to do with Johnny and wanted to just move on with her life? Responding to what’s going on in his life isn’t exactly what you’d expect from someone moving on," another chimed in.

Depp, 58, sued Heard, 36, for defamation over a 2018 Washington Post op-ed penned by the actress in which she claimed to be a survivor of domestic abuse. While the article didn't mention Depp by name, his lawyers argued that the implications were obvious and damaged their client's acting career. The jury originally awarded Depp $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages. However, the judge quickly reduced the punitive damages to $350,000 to adhere to Virginia state law.
Depp's attorneys have garnered widespread praise since they helped the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star win his defamation suit. It recently emerged that star attorney Vasquez was promoted to the position of a partner in her law firm after her stellar performance on the Depp case. The 37-year-old was an associate at Brown Rudnick when the trial commenced. "We are delighted to welcome Camille to the partnership," Brown Rudnick CEO William Baldiga said in a press release on Tuesday, June 7. "Historically, we have reserved this announcement for the end of our fiscal year. But Camille’s performance during the Johnny Depp trial proved to the world that she was ready to take this next step now." Baldiga added, "We are incredibly proud of her and look forward to what she will accomplish as our newest partner."
In other news, Depp also made his TikTok debut on Tuesday -- sharing a video thanking his doting fans for their "unwavering" support throughout the six-week trial.
