'He's more scared of Bezos?' Calm Amazon driver walks through active police standoff to deliver package
CARY, NORTH CAROLINA: A dedicated Amazon delivery driver has gone viral after he brazenly walked into an active police standoff to deliver a parcel to an armed SWAT officer. The incident happened near an apartment complex in Cary, North Carolina where the driver nonchalantly walked into an hours-long standoff that ended with a man taking his own life.
In a viral TikTok video of the incident, the worker was seen approaching the complex that was surrounded by police vehicles, before an officer stopped him from getting any closer. The officer then received the package and handed it off to someone who begins to move in the direction of the apartment complex. After dropping off the parcel, the driver takes out his phone, perhaps to mark the delivery of the package as complete, according to Daily Mail.

'When you're serious about your work'
The brave employee then strolls past the cop cars but stops in the middle to turn around and take a picture of a job well done. "Look he's taking a picture!" the woman narrating the TikTok clip says through laughter. "It made it there! When you are serious about your work. Go Amazon! Bro!" It was later revealed that the standoff involved a man who suffered from a mental health crisis and shot his 11-year-old son twice, before taking his own life.
The standoff lasted more than 20 hours in total and ended with police taking the 11-year-old boy out of the apartment complex. Cary Police Chief Terry Sult said that negotiators "did a remarkable job securing his release, then did another remarkable job trying to work on this individual. I have no words to express the problem that we face with mental illness in this country." The unnamed youngster was soon discharged from the hospital and brought home to live with other family members.
'More scared of Jeff Bezos'
The video of the incident has garnered immense social media attention, with users lauding the driver’s courage. "From one Amazon driving to another I don’t blame him he would’ve had to come back and re-attempt the delivery," wrote one user. "More scared of Jeff Bezos than getting taken out," a second user quipped while a third wrote, "Package Delivery Note was 'handed to SWAT officer.'" Another user chimed in saying, "Amazon should put that in the advertisement. 'Nothing will stop us from delivering and I mean NOTHING.'"
