Amanda Bynes might not get to marry 'tha love of my life' after she revealed that she was engaged to a mystery man on this year's Valentine's Day because her parents don't approve of the man that she has chosen for herself.

According to TMZ, her parents are far from liking Bynes' fiance, who was identified as Paul Michael - a man she met at an AA meeting and has only been dating for a few months - as they haven't met him yet and they don't feel its in her best interest to get married to the guy.

Apparently, Bynes, 33, had a boyfriend recently and her family thinks that her fiance might just be a rebound.

Also, marrying without the consent of her mother will be next to impossible for the actress as she is her conservator and would require to give the couple her blessings for the 'She's The Man' star to legally tie to knot.

Although it is not known as to how much about her fiance Amanda has told her family about, his financial status does not seem very impressive. Her family believes that Michael is currently unemployed and that was one of the reasons why he bought Bynes a ring - the same one she was seen wearing on her finger when she broke the news of her engagement on Instagram - off Amazon for $49.

Bynes, meanwhile, has been going around telling her friends that the ring is not fitted with a real diamond and she is fine with it.

Amanda quit the Hollywood scene when she was just 24 but that decision was followed by arrests, social media trolling, negative press coverage, and of course people not taking her seriously as an actress, Cheatsheet reported.

"Being an actress isn’t as fun as it may seem. I know 24 is a young age to retire … I’ve never written the movies and TV shows I’ve been a part of. I’ve only acted like the characters the producers or directors wanted me to play," People quoted her tweet.

Ever since this happened, she hit a downward spiral and it took her years to come out of it.
