A YouTube streamer who has claustrophbia made the decision to spend five hours crawling through a network of caves that at times were only 12 inches wide. Ally Law, 26, from Southampton, and his friend Jack Jerrard, 30, were exploring a steep area in Bangor, North Wales when they came across a hole in the side of a hill.

The content creators decided to take on a ‘claustrophobia challenge’ after squeezing through the tiny aperture and then exploring the cave. They acknowledge they ‘got panicky’ when they started their task, which Ally says was about ‘overcoming a fear’, as they crammed their bodies through openings as small as 30 cm.

Tight space and zero visibility

Content creator Ally recalled feeling scared when he was squeezed into tight spaces in the cave with little to no visibility. He said, “At one point I was wedged in very hard and it was hitting my back and belly. My neck was aching as well because I had to keep my head to the side because it wouldn't fit.”

He added that they started to think about heading back but were glad they didn't didn't as they were in the maze of caves for five hours anyway. “If you don't have a torch on, you can't see anything down there. The darkness is at a different intensity. Even with light you lose all awareness of whether you're heading down or up. It throws all your perception out,” he said.

‘We are stupid’

The duo can be seen in the video calling each other ‘stupid’ as they become trapped in a small area before they were able to extricate themselves and locate an alternative path. In one scene, Ally says, "I'm regretting doing this, this is horrible," indicating that he may have been in danger.

After completing the challenge, Ally said, “It felt amazing when we got out. You'd never believe you could taste fresh air yet it tastes and you can feel it. It was wonderful to be able to breathe clean air.”
