'All Rise' Season 1 Episode 6 gives the backstory on Sherri Kansky and fans love the friendship blossoming between her and Lola Carmichael

In this week's episode of 'All Rise', Lola is presiding over the murder trial involving a high-profile reality show star's murder and her assistant who has been accused of the act.

In this week's episode of 'All Rise' on CBS, a case is already well underway with the evidence having been presented to the judge and accepted for trial by jury. The case: 'A reality TV star, Hayley has died of a heroin overdose and it is suspected that her personal assistant, Olivia, forcefully injected her with the drugs to kill her.' This is a high-profile case with the media at it like a dog at a bone. It doesn't help that the public feels personal about this case, with people taking sides between Hayley and Olivia.

Olivia's defense attorney is playing right along into the theatrics of it all, putting on a performance to cast himself and his client as the victims of a flawed justice system, but Lola will not have any of it. Even when the threat of putting him in contempt doesn't tame the attorney, Lola then threatens to get an investigation started on him that could result in him being debarred.

Eventually, Olivia nearly incriminates herself while on the stand and is found guilty by the jury. The shining moment of this episode was, however, the heart-to-heart between Lola and her assistant, Sherri Kansky. Viewers will have noted that Sherri is a very by-the-books, strict woman who is ready to let Lola know when she is doing something she is not supposed to. In this week's episode, we get a little backstory into Sherri's life and understand why she is the way she is.

When Lola stays with Sherri during the trial, having been doxxed due to the publicity of the case, Sherri opens up to her about having hippie parents -- much to Lola's and our shock -- and how she would struggle with a job to raise money for college, until one day her parents came into the restaurant she worked at, racked up a $200 bill and left without paying, costing Sherri her job. She explained that this is why she has so many rules and regulations, and felt that the celebrity trial felt like being a child again, where she was losing control.

One fan tweeted about Sherri's work ethic, saying, "She likes to act all tough, but the truth is she actually likes and respects Lola. She'll do anything within her power to protect her, in and out of court. Beautiful friendship blossoming! #AllRise." Another fan wrote, "So good!!! Loved the @SimoneMissick and @RuthieAnnMiles scene at the house and the dynamic between Mark and Emily. Definitely need to see these pairings more. One of my favorite episodes so far. The final Mark & Lola scene was the best!"

'All Rise' airs on CBS on Monday nights.
