Aliens or spy balloons? Unidentified objects over US skies an eerie reminder of ‘Tic Tac’ UFO from 2004
HELENA, MONTANA: The US is currently experiencing a UFO craze after a third strange object was destroyed on Sunday, February 12, by an F-16 fighter jet's missile. The "octagonal" item, which had "potential surveillance capabilities," passed close to a critical military location in Montana before flying over the Great Lakes.
This incident comes right after a Chinese "spy balloon" was eliminated last weekend and two more items were shot down over Alaska and Canada in the days prior. The Pentagon has refused to exclude an extraterrestrial origin for the three subsequent mysterious flying objects, reports Daily Mail.

Two of the objects have a shape similar to the infamous "Tic Tac" UFO, a white oblong sighted by the US Navy in 2004. "Can't rule out a connection with the Tic Tac sighting, a complete explanation is still to be determined," Nick Pope, a former UK Ministry of Defence official and a British UFO expert, told Daily Mail.
Why is 'Tic Tac' UFO being mentioned in latest sightings?
US Navy pilots were engaged in a regular training operation with the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz off the coast of Southern California in November 2004. They spotted the "Tic Tac" UFO which was revealed in a leaked official US government footage shot aboard the Navy fighter jet. Lieutenant Commander Alex Dietrich of the US Navy was on board and noted an odd "churning" of the ocean's surface before spotting the UFO. The big Tic Tac breath mint-like smooth, white object, which appeared to defy the rules of physics, was flying over the lake at a rapid rate of speed, reported Daily Mail. "It appeared to respond in a way that we didn't recognize", Dietrich said to Reuters in 2021, and seemed to lack 'any visible flight control surfaces or means of propulsion". "We don't know what it was, but it could have been a natural phenomenon in human activity,' she said. 'But the point was that it was weird, and we couldn't recognize it."
Is there a connection between Tic Tac and the recently fallen objects?
Pope stressed that an overarching explanation is "still to be determined" but added that he "can't rule out a connection with the Tic Tac sighting." "I don't have an explanation for the Tic Tac incident, and to the best of my knowledge the DOD and the US Navy are still categorizing it as unidentified," he said to Daily Mail.
'Chinese balloons or classic UFOs?'
The news went viral on the Internet with one user tweeting," Do you think these are Chinese balloons or do you think they are classic UFOs?" Another user said, "The tic tac is nothing more than a reflection." "If so, why would they shoot down their own reverse engineered craft?" remarked one user.
🤔 Do you think these are Chinese balloons or do you think they are classic UFOs?
