A man died outside a house in Georgia after he was mauled to death by two dogs as he allegedly tried to break into a house. The man has been identified as Alex Binyam Abraha, 21, who was first found by the homeowner on the porch on Friday, September 24.

The authorities said that the man allegedly made his way into the two-bedroom house in a rural area of Newnan in Georgia’s Coweta County. They arrived at the scene at around 10:30 in the morning after they received the report of a body found. Initially, the sheriff’s department and homicide investigators from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) worked together as they thought it to be a homicide.

However, later a medical examiner with the GBI announced that the death happened because of the dogs' attack. And since it’s been confirmed that the two dogs were behind Abraha’s death, the homeowner won’t face any charge. It has been said that the man faced the dogs while he was trying to make entry inside the house. Dogs overpowered him and mauled Abraha to death before leaving his body to be found the next morning.

Doug Evans, a journalist with local Fox affiliate WAGA-TV, posted pictures of the two dogs on Twitter on Wednesday, September 29. He also confirmed that the “Coweta deputies say two dogs mauled an intruder who the homeowner later discovered dead on the front porch.”

Meanwhile, the house owner — whose name is not known — expressed his shock over the whole incident and said that he had no idea how Abraha was able to enter his residence. The owner also claimed that he does not know why the alleged intruder selected his home to break-in. Reports said that Abraha was a known criminal, who had active arrest warrants in Fulton County.

However, it has not been cleared yet if investigators found any weapon on Abraha’s body or why he did not run away from the scene after confronting the dogs. On the other hand, the two canines have been taken into custody by the Department of Corrections of the county. It’s not known yet what authorities are planning to do with them.

Twitter was also filled with reactions over the whole incident after Evans tweeted about it. A user wrote, “The intruder got what he deserved!” But the second one disagreed and said, “unpopular opinion, but even if they did something they definitely shouldnt have and deserve consequences, it doesnt mean they deserve their life taken away and i am disappointed to see that there few people who care that someone died despite them trying to steal.”

In response, the third user added: “So you're saying you'd rather see what may have happened if the dogs weren't there? What if he was armed and killed the home owner? Rather be safe than sorry. Maybe don't break into people's home? Crazy thought.”

A person tweeted, “Weren’t the dogs doing what they were suppose to do, protect them home??? If any intruder breaks into my house I would expect that my dog would attack.” Another one stated: “Dogs doing what dogs do.....protecting their own. It's kinda like a momma bear attacking a human when they come into their home and get to close to their cubs.....you can't blame the animal.  Now if the dogs were at large & running the streets we'd have a different story.”
