Who are Rykia Lewis and Karla McCoy? Mom and daughter watch each other's sex tapes and share tips
An Alabama mother and daughter duo has revealed their close relationship. Rykia Lewis, 26, and her mother Karla McCoy, 44, have appeared on TLC’S hit series ‘sMothered’, where they shared how important they are for each other. The pair reportedly do everything together, from cooking and shopping to spa outings and getting drinks. However, the other details that raised the eyebrows are — watching each other's sex tapes and giving each other regular bikini waxes.
Karla told The New York Post that they started waxing each other randomly when they were going swimming and she felt that she needed to wax her nether regions. “I said, ‘Kia, come and wax me!’ and it just happened. To us, it’s not a big deal. But I’m pretty sure on TV it’s going to seem crazy. [But] we feel like, ‘OK, you let strangers do it. We go and get services done by professional people.’ If I would let a stranger look down there, why wouldn’t I let my daughter?” she stated.

Rykia, who lost her father when she was seven, said that she became closer to her mother after giving birth to her son when she was just a teen. She said she and Karla co-parent the child. Rykia told The New York Post: “I think with me having a kid at a young age — to my mom it was like, ‘OK, you’ve had a kid, I don’t need to sugarcoat things with you.’ So when [my mom and I would] talk about sex, my friends would be like, ‘Why are you having this conversation?’ and I’d be like, ‘I’ve had a baby now, my mom doesn’t have to beat around the bush.’”
However, things are more surprising than this in this mother-daughter relationship. Apparently, they are so frank with each other that they even watch their sex tapes and give suggestions. The mother reportedly showed her sex tape to Rykia two years ago and the latter one did the same a year ago. “I was just going through my phone deleting some old stuff and Rykia was sitting there, and I was laughing about it, like, ‘I have all of these old videos that I need to get rid of’. It was just like that. It wasn’t like total porn, she saw them as I scrolled through and was deleting. Rykia is an adult, she’s not a child — so it’s like me talking to my best friend.”
Rykia also said that her former partner did not like her closeness with her mother. “I had one significant other in the past that knew I shared the video with my mom and he was like ‘you guys are sick',” she stated.
They also explained that they don’t feel weird sharing everything with each other. “At the end of the day, she’s the closest female that I have in my life. What other woman would I share those things with?” Karla said and her daughter added, “My mother is the most important person in the world to me. I can lean on her, I can depend on her for anything and I appreciate that, I really, really do. We do everything together, I mean everything. We watch movies together, cook together, twerk together.”
