Release Date

'Aggretsuko' Season 3 releases on Netflix on August 27.

Plot

'Aggretsuko' - or "Aggressive Retsuko" - follows the adventures of an anthropomorphic red-panda named Retsuko as she tries to navigate her work, personal relationships, and her own dreams. She has a unique method of relieving stress: Heavy metal karaoke.

Season 2 took a long hard look at Retsuko's ideas of what adulthood was meant to look like, and she's come out the stronger for it. In Season 3, the trailer hints that Retsuko will be challenged by those in her life to fighting for her dreams – through this possibly leave her colleagues and friends behind as she strives for a new life.

Cast of Characters

Retsuko - Four voices work to portray the titular character. In Japanese, Kaolip voices the character while Rarecho does the vocals.  Erica Mendez voices the English version, with Jamison Boaz on vocals. Retsuko is a 25-year old red panda working in her company's accounting apartment, who vents her frustrations by singing heavy metal at a local karaoke bar. A cheerful introvert, part of her journey is discovering how to grow closer to her office colleagues, whom she at first just can't stand.

Director Ton - Director Ton is Souta Arai (Japanese) and Josh Petersdorf (English). The pig director of the company Retsuko works in, Director Ton is a typical nightmare of a boss, prone to sexist comments and oppressing his employees by overworking them to the bone. He may be a capable accountant, but he spends a lot more time golfing than he does in the office, preferring to delegate to his overworked underlings.

Fenneko - Retsuko's fennec fox co-worker is voiced by Rina Inoue (Japanese) and Katelyn Gault (English). Known for her unique, toneless laugh, Fenneko is skilled at perceiving people's emotional states by close observation of their behavior, supplemented by a little examination of their social media.

Haida - Voiced by Shingo Kato (Japanese) and Ben Diskin (English), Haida is Retsuko's mild-mannered spotted hyena co-worker who is attempting to work out his unspoken crush for Retsuko, developed after five years of the pair being friends. Haida is an avid punk rock fan and plays the bass guitar when he's not at work.
